About The Thomas Egerton
The Thomas Egerton is a pub in Bolton on Blackburn Rd, with a dedicated Dog House Inn area where dogs can come inside for seating and dining alongside their owners. The kitchen cooks a steak and ale pie, a steak burger with home cut chips and sticky toffee pudding for dessert, and a roast menu offers roast beef and lamb. The bar stocks a wide range of drinks, and sport shows on widescreens. Weekly quiz and live music nights give the pub a regular programme, with other events through the year for friends and families. A small dining room sits at the back, separate from the main area. Private events and celebrations can be arranged by calling 01204 301774.

Customer Review Summary
The caveat comes from two low ratings. One reviewer waited over an hour for food and was told to "read the room" when asking about it. Another found the new Bang Bang Noodles less sweet than the old Singapore Noodles, a chocolate orange sundae that was ice cream with a little brownie, and lukewarm coffee that came back burnt after being microwaved. That reviewer also waited for the second half of a table's dishes while the pub was quiet.

“Visited the pub to get some dinner as we have been here before & always enjoyed it. It was quite busy however got a table for two straight away, had our drink & food orders taken promptly. After waiting for food for just over an hour I asked one of the waitress’ if she knew how long our food would be to which she replied “read the room”. I completely understand it was busy & people work differently under stress but I really didn’t think my question warranted such a rude response. Fortunately the girl works serving food & not the bomb disposal team if that is how she talks to people whilst under pressure.”

“Traditional hearty pub food! Definitely got my moneys worth and left feeling like a fat cat. Came in on Easter Sunday afternoon and even though it was busy, the staff were all welcoming, friendly and polite. We sat in the small dining room out the back which was a lot quieter (suited us). Steak and ale pie was ace. Great job guys! Will be coming back.”

“Lunch time spent in a convivial pub just a short distance from Bolton itself, the food was to our liking and am hoping to revisit when I'm back in Bolton again to try some of the other dishes.”
