Customer Review Summary
Rag pudding is the dish diners return to most, served with chips, mushy peas and gravy and called delicious and spot on. Close behind are the pizzas, especially the vegetarian Florentine with an egg, plus battered halloumi and chips, houmous, pork loin and steak Canadian. Friendly, helpful staff feature in nearly every review, alongside real ale, plenty of seating inside and out, and a dog friendly welcome. The complaints are fewer but specific. One vegetarian was disappointed when a shared platter of halloumi, houmous and fish goujons arrived on a single board and the halloumi tasted of fish, and the same reviewer found the print on the lunch menus far too small. Another couple skipped the food after seeing dogs on customer seating and on a table. Many describe stopping in mid-walk or after a long walk around the reservoirs and countryside.

“I’m not from the area but recently stayed in Chapeltown to catch up with family and do some walking, happened to stumble upon the gem that is The Chatham Arms, genuinely couldn’t be happier with the service or the food. We had lunch and then decided to have dinner too. Outstanding on all accounts, lovely friendly staff too.”

“We called in the middle of a walk on the off-chance of having something to eat. The serving staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The menu had so many options it was hard to choose, the meals did not disappoint when they arrived either. The pork loin and steak Canadian were delicious. Thank you!”
