It runs as a family pub with a base of regular locals.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the Sunday roast, particularly the thick sliced roast sirloin of beef with home made gravy and soft, nicely sized Yorkshire puddings. Close behind is the specials board, where reviewers name a breaded burrata starter and a shared steak platter with generous sides and sauces. Salt and pepper cod bites, pies, and a triple decker club sandwich with chicken and bacon also get praise. Others mention fish and chips, gammon, lasagne, and chips cooked to perfection. Several describe friendly, caring staff, a welcoming atmosphere, and good Guinness and cask ale. A number say the pub is much improved since new owners took over. The one complaint came from a reviewer who was told the chef was still in bed after a heavy night, which they called an unprofessional attitude, though the bar staff were apologetic. Elsewhere, a large family meal that included dogs was accommodated, and a request for a child size roast beef got a yes from the chef.

“Called today for food was told that the chef was still in bed after a heavy night we had travelled 6 miles to try this place. Can safely say we won’t be returning. Very unprofessional attitude. The bar staff were very apologetic it wasn’t their fault but we were very disappointed”

“Smashing place, clean, aesthetically pleasing, with a wonderful landlady and her fella. Can't do enough to welcome us. New food menu last week and new chef, and knowing them, had to try it out. Excellent. Meat (gammon) obviously from local good butcher, succulent... mmmmm; lasagne wholesome, chips are cleverly done to absolute perfection - there's a secret there no doubt. Topped off with cask ale... what a lunch. Will be back. Thanks.”

“I was personally feeling peckish and saw signs for food so pulled over and Wow! What a hidden gem! It was clean and friendly with a good selection beers. I was sat checking the menu out and food was going to the other tables looking and smelling great but this was not the end of my shock the specials looked out of this world. With it being midday I opted for the club sandwich and core-blimey what a sandwich that was! triple decker full of chicken, bacon, cheese lettuce all dressed in goodness 😍 Lastly, I met the landlady’s Allison and Lesley and they were very kind and were happy to have a chat and found out that this was only taken over by them a few months previous. All I can say is will be back and good luck in the future ladies.”

“Been a few times now since the new owners have taken over and I can honestly say the pub is 100% better. The food we have had is outstanding and the specials board is a great addition, the staff are also amazing. This is not your usual pub grub but so much more. I would 100% recommend.”

“So pleased that The Cheetham Arms is back and better than ever. We enjoyed a delicious family meal and Sunday Roast today. The Roast Sirloin of Beef was tasty and tender, the Yorkshire Puddings a thing of beauty, the youngest one loved her freshly cooked Fish and Chips and the older youngster squealed with delight when our request for a child size Roast Beef got a yes from the chef. Our experience was enhanced by our personable, young waiter. We will definitely be returning.”
