Customer Review Summary
Burgers draw the most praise, from the limited edition big daddy burger, called massive without being greasy, to a tasty burger with skin on fries. Close behind is the staff, described as welcoming, friendly and helpful, including a bartender who knew the menu and suggested drinks. Also singled out are the loaded fries, hot dog, pie and gravy, chocolate fudge cake, and a side room buffet that catered for gluten free guests. One reviewer notes the dog menu. Service is the sore point for others. A family with a 2 year old describes long waits for starters and mains, missed items and Sunday roast beef like boot leather. One drinker reports slow bar service, a till that could not find Estrella, and a beer mat used to clear the head from a pint. Two call drinks expensive, and one notes desserts ran out. Another family was treated to an off-display Vindaloo burger after asking about specials.

“Decent pub visit. Food was nice and your typical pub menu. Ran out of a lot of deserts which isn’t ideal. Been here a few times and would return as nice pub, good location and overall pretty good. Only a small carpark so parking was a challenge.”

“Great service by Liz and Adam. We were a family group ranging from 5 years to 70s. The food came quickly and was very nice, clean plates all round. Good traditional pub grub, no loud music and all the better for it. Will go again.”

“Poor. Came in for a quick drink after going for a meal at Curleys on a Friday afternoon. Waited a little while for one other person to be served. Very slowly. Eventually got served. A glass of wine and a pint were forthcoming. Woohoo! A paper beer mat was then used to remove the head on my pint! Feels very unhygienic... I hope it was unused (but was put back where he found it so not so sure about that). The previous customer then came back to buy a sausage for their dog! Turns out his card didn't work so he was asked to pay again for the meal/drinks. Card eventually worked. Then he paid for the sausage with cash. Waited for what seemed like an eternity for the 4 pound coins to be counted out and the change passed back to the customer. Eventually got my own order entered into the till. Except the barman couldn't find Estrella on there! Stood there looking at the £10.20 bill for the wine for a while. He went in the back to fetch a more experienced member of staff (Alison?). Who was able to to find the Estrella without any issues. For which I was charged another £7 odd. Pint was about a quarter empty by the time we were able to go and get a seat. Feels a bit overpriced to be fair, especially when taking account of the service. Drank up and left fairly soon.”

“Had the end of season awards for my daughter’s u16 football team. Set out the side room for us and had the buffet . The room was great , nice and quiet with access to side outside area. Buffet was lovely with good selection and also catered for glutton free people”
