About The Brewery Bar (Blackedge Brewing Co)
The Brewery Bar (Blackedge Brewing Co) is a bar in Blackedge on Brewery Moreton Mill, opened in February 2015 as the taproom for Blackedge Brewing Company. It sits upstairs directly above the working brewery, so the beer is made below the bar. Seven hand-pulled cask ales come from the brewery's own range. The keg lines carry ten craft beers, six of them brewed by Blackedge, along with Paulaner Helles and Steigl Alpine Lager. Cider drinkers get one rotating keg cider and seven real ciders. Wines, spirits and soft drinks are also stocked. The kitchen makes fresh artisan pizza, including a hot honey option, and the bar sells pork pies from local butchers. The bar also hosts an open mic night. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the real ales from the brewery's own range, with several calling the beer superb, decent, or as good as ever, and a few also praising the lagers on keg and in bottles. Close behind is the welcome from staff, described as lovely, great fun, and friendly. One reviewer recalls a bartender making special adjustments for a child wearing an autism lanyard. The hot honey pizza is called really nice, and the beer garden at the front and back gets a nod, along with an open mic night that made for a good evening. The criticism is mixed. One reviewer felt ignored at the bar by inattentive staff, with several beers running out and staff unwilling to change the barrels, even though the bar was nearly empty. Another found the range a bit samey, and one returning visitor preferred the bar before it was done up. The closing detail from that visitor is that the beer was as good as ever.

“Called into Blackedge for a drink and ended up trying the hot honey pizza — really nice! The staff were great fun and made us feel welcome, and there was a really good choice of beers. Definitely worth a visit.”

“I was here last week. All of the staff are lovely. Bonne made special adjustments for a child she saw with an autism landyard. Super attentive and caring.”

“Decent ales. But I'm not a fan of the bar. Ignored at the bar by inattentive staff, several beers run out and staff unwilling to go and change them. It just didn't feel very customer focussed and friendly. Edit. Sorry to hear about the family member. But this review relates to a visit some weeks earlier. The bar was pretty much empty.”
