About Bunbury's
Bunbury's is a micro pub in Bolton, at 397 Chorley Old Rd, built around real ale. Three cask ales are on at any one time, and the line-up changes constantly. A large range of bottled beers, both local and foreign, sits alongside the casks, and ciders are sold as well. The owner and bar staff guide drinkers through the choices and offer samples before they commit to a pint. Themed nights and events are held at the bar, and dogs are welcome. No food is served.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come above all for the real ale, describing a huge selection where the cask ales change constantly and the bottled beers range through Europe, with local and foreign choices and ciders alongside. Several describe the bar staff and owner as knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly, and happy to guide anyone unsure what to pick. Close behind is the atmosphere, called relaxed, chilled, unpretentious and quiet, with one reviewer praising the events and themed nights. The outdoor area is called nice in summer. Accounts of food differ: one reviewer says the pub serves none, while another praises its burgers. One reviewer also reports slow weekend service, with only one person working and customers having to seat themselves. Another notes lots of bottles alongside three cask ales. One visitor who never usually drinks real ale says the owner brought a selection to try.

“A very interesting and welcome addition to the Bolton real ale offering. A very unpretentious setting but the beer offering is huge! Cask ales are a constantly changing feast and the bottled beers an odyssey through Europe. The bar staff are knowledgeable, welcoming and in this for the love of all things ale.”

“FOOD: their burgers are amazing, i have tried almost all of their burgers and have brought friends and family. SERVICE: Service is really slow specially over the weekends its crazy and most of the time they only have one server or person to clean and organize. You have to help yourself to be seated. ATMOSPHERE: Outdoor is nice during summers.”
