Quick info
About YAKII
YAKII is a Birmingham restaurant at 176 Corporation St, serving sushi, noodles and bento. Sticky notes cover the walls and every table, so customers can leave their own messages during a visit. The menu includes chicken katsu, which also comes in ramen soup, and the sushi rolls include a spicy king prawn roll. Noodle dishes run from braised, soupy bowls to chicken fried noodles, which gives diners a choice between brothy and dry plates. Halal options are marked on the menu, so guests who eat halal can pick them out without asking. Service slows at peak hours, when often only one person takes orders.

Customer Review Summary
Chicken katsu is the dish reviewers return to most, described as perfectly fried and one of a kind, and one regular says they bring boxes back to Liverpool for friends. Close behind are the noodles, with the braised noodles highly recommended, the ramen loaded with toppings and a good kick, and the chicken fried noodles called succulent. Reviewers also praise the fresh maki, the warm and juicy prawns in the spicy king prawn roll, and the fruit ice teas. Many mention the sticky notes on the tables and walls where visitors leave messages, along with the decor and the clear halal labelling on the menu. Service is described as quick and kind, though one reviewer says peak hours run slower with only one person taking orders. The one lukewarm note is a veg tempura with rice that was about average, while the soupy noodles ordered on an earlier visit were good. Several call the prices affordable and the portions very good, and one family celebrating a nephew's birthday left a five star review at his insistence.

“A tiny restaurant to provide on demand freshly cooked food. The foods were served in proper manner and taste was good. They carry a lot of love notes from entire client base and very importantly the menu indicates very well the HALAL options. Recommend to try!”

“We have been to yakii more times than I can count, I take a few back with me all the way to Liverpool for friends! It truly is one of the best places in Birmingham and the prices are incredibly affordable. For every single time I’ve visited for the past 2 years, I have been treated with kindness, great consistent service and always treated so well. If you haven’t tried it, try it! The chicken katsu is one of a kind and the best!! I’ll forever recommend this to every friend and family member I meet xx”
