Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is what most reviewers return to Yaadgaar for, with the saag and paratha singled out most often, served with desi tea or a lassi that one diner calls generous and especially nice. One reviewer says the saag reminds them of their mum's cooking, and the paratha is praised even in a harsh review. Close behind, the chips and a clean, spacious upstairs seating area on a Sunday morning earn mentions, and several describe the service as good or okay. The curries draw the sharpest complaints. One diner says the Nihari and Paya gravies tasted the same, sweet like a Qorma, while another calls the paya okay. Reviewers also fault the British dishes, naming the full English, a jacket potato with cheese and beans, and the pasta. One finds the desi nashta had too many puris and too little chana salan, and another had to swap stained plates themselves. One reviewer calls the tea an extra charge on top of the full English.

“Took my mum for breakfast here and we had a lovely time — especially enjoyed the saag and paratha with desi tea 😍”

“1st time been to this restaurant. Had Nihari, Paya and Qeema. Nihari and Paya gravy taste the same. No taste of Nihari, tasted like sweet Qorma. Paya was tasteless and sweet, and appeared to be made with onions only. Only Qeema was better. Paratha quality was good. Tea was average. I would never try this place again. They need to improve and provide an authentic taste of the curries as they are named. I can cook better at home to be honest.”

“Visited yaadgaar recently. The place looked clean and had nice aesthetics, but some plates had stains, so we had to swap them ourselves. Service was okay, nothing special. The food tasted really good, and the lassi was especially nice with a generous portion. However, the desi nashta had too many puris and not enough chana salan, which made it hard to enjoy properly. Overall, good food but could improve on cleanliness and portion balances.”

“We recently visited Yaadgaar in Birmingham and was very impressed with the quality of the food. Everything was freshly prepared and tasted wonderful. One suggestion, however, concerns the breakfast pricing. The Full English breakfast is £9.50, but tea is not included and must be purchased separately for £2.20. Including tea with both the Full English and Desi breakfast would offer better value and enhance the dining experience. Overall, the visit was excellent, and I would rate it 10 out of 10.”
