About The Good Intent
The Good Intent is a Birmingham bar at 32-33 Great Western Arcade, fitted out in a pirate-ship style. It donates its profits to local charities, so money spent at the bar goes to causes in the area. Downstairs, the bar pours Craddock's own beers on tap alongside guest keg and cask beers. A room upstairs is used for events and group gatherings. High ceilings and a few nooks give the arcade setting some variety. A food menu is available, with a separate dessert menu.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the setting, a high-ceilinged pub in the arcade with cosy nooks that one compares to a fancy pirate ship, and they describe a welcoming atmosphere and friendly bar staff. Beer is the next draw, from a refreshing IPA to darker house beers, plus a couple of guest keg and cask options. Regulars mention birthdays, Secret Santa and leaving dos, one praises the large portions on the new menu, and another enjoyed a Burns night in the upstairs room. The complaints centre on service. One reviewer received a drink made differently from the order and found the barman flustered. Another was told cash was not being taken because there were no coins for change, and was made to pay by card. A third noted that many taps had nothing on and sensed some moodiness behind the bar. Even so, one first-time visitor recalled being allowed to taste two beers before choosing.

“Stopped by here evening of 27th August. The taĺler of the two barman advised they weren't taking cash as they hadn't had a delivery of coins. I had the correct change to pay the exact amount but waa forced to use card payment. If one was being skeptical then one might think that he didn't want to take cash so that he didn't have to correlate it at the end of shift - and therefore finish his shift quicker”

“What a lovely little pub - came here for the first time last week for a writing meetup, so much character in the place (it feels like a fancy pirate ship, in the best way!). Really good drinks selection too. Haven’t had food yet but would like to try it. Impressed!”

“You need to visit this boozer just for the decor and setting. Absolutely stunning. Craddock’s own beers are okay - their darker stuff is great. Normally a couple guest keg/cask too. Always a nice atmosphere in here as well.”

“disappointing experience. The service was all over the place, and my drink wasn’t even made the way I ordered it. When I politely pointed this out, the barman—with his collection of piercings—seemed completely flustered and unsure how to handle the situation. It turned what should have been a simple fix into an awkward and frustrating interaction. Mistakes happen, but the overall service was far below what I’d expect. customer service needs a lot more work. with better staff training and a more confident approach to customers, it could be a much better experience. I won't be back”

“So it was the first day of the new menu, all I can say is amazing. Large portions with a great selection friendly professional staff and a great atmosphere in the entire pub. I have to return for another visit as I couldn't try the dessert menu but that was because I was full. First class service as always thank you”
