Customer Review Summary
Sunday lunch is what most reviewers return to, with the roast beef and ice cream singled out as delicious, one diner noting no waiting for food even when a function was on. Close behind is the seafood tagliatelle, described as packed with fish and huge king prawns, along with specials such as cod supreme with prawns, monk fish and prawns, scallops and potato and leek soup. Friendly, quick service comes up repeatedly, and several mention the dog friendly, family friendly welcome and a good range of drinks, including three elderflower options and zero alcohol choices for drivers. The one complaint comes from a lunch guest in their 80s whose meal was spoilt by a young man at the next table swearing loudly in a way they felt the staff tolerated, though they still called the food and staff lovely. Reviewers describe the bar area as casual and the restaurant as comfortable, and one group praised an annual classic car meet where people gather to chat and admire the cars.

“We've held our annual classic car meet at The Bluebell Inn in Belper for a few years now, and it's always a fantastic venue. The staff are genuinely friendly, welcoming, and work hard to make sure everyone has a great time. The food is consistently good, there's a great choice of drinks, and the atmosphere is always relaxed and enjoyable. It's a very dog friendly and family friendly pub, so everyone feels welcome. There's plenty of space for people to chat and admire the cars, making it the perfect place for our event. We'd happily recommend The Bluebell Inn whether you're stopping by for a meal, a drink, or just looking for a friendly local pub.”

“Friends took us last night after they had a nice meal there last week with they believe a new chef and larger more extensive menu with a specials board. To start we had a delicious potato & leek soup, salmon and prawn dish and 2 of the group had the scallops- no dissapointment with the starters. For the mains we had cod supreme with prawns and monk fish & prawns both from the specials served with a nice selection of potatoes and veg plus a steak pie, peas & chips from the main menu. A few options of desserts but we were all full. The service was very attentive from all the staff which was nice and all super friendly. We were worried on arriving as the car parked seemed packed but surprisingly the pub and restaurant wasn't but just with a nice number of people to give it a good atmosphere. Definitely will be returning.”
