  “Popped in for Lunch with a client of mine who lives locally from London. service was excellent and the sandwiches were 10 million times better than London. Amazing views, very good setting and food was exceptional. Highly recommend beer selection is god tier also.”

  “Had a lovely family lunch here. They were very understanding even though we were a little bit late for our reservation, and got the food out quickly even though the restaurant was busy. The food itself was delicious, will good sized portions at a fair price. I had the pie, which was filled with succulent lamb. We had forgotten our dog blanket, so our dog was struggling to settle on the tile floor. They lent us a picnic blanket for her to lie on, which was really above and beyond. Thank you so much for a great experience! Would definitely come again!”

  “Out of a group of 8 people it was unfortunately a mixed bag. With some good meals and some bad. Everyone had a great starter enjoyed by all. Mains where very different with 5 having enjoyable roast meals and 3 having meals they considered either unedible or barely edible. Speaking personally my beef was difficult to eat because it contained a lot of fat. Brussels where hard, stuffing was shaped like a block of wood and was uneaten because of how it looked, yorkshire was good, as were the roast potato and mash, pigs in blankets were also good. To be fair to the manager he did after much pressure and 5 minutes of debate decide it was fair to deduct 2 meals which were largely uneaten from the bill. Deserts by those who had them where good. 1 drink was ordered that never got served until 20 minutes later when that same drink had to be reordered. Overall I cannot recommend the Spotted Cow Holbrook.”

  “A great experience for Sunday lunch yet again! The Landlord was very welcoming and gave us a choice of tables to sit at as the lunch time rush had died down a little. We chose a table near the roaring fire and ordered the roast beef dinner and a couple glasses of Rioja. The food arrived within good time and our waitress was very friendly. The food was fantastic and we were given very generous individual jugs of gravy which is great because we like a lot of gravy. We couldn’t manage a dessert! Looking forward to the next time!”

  “Called in Boxing Day for refreshments, nice place, waiting staff excellent, shame the manager hadn’t the same skills in hospitality! Ordered food and drink, there were 9 of us, so reasonable amount purchased. Was asked how long we were going to be at the table, whilst we were still eating, as a booking had arrived early, and were we having more drinks after our food? as the table was required. Did order more drinks at the bar, served by the manager, whilst 4 members left to fetch transport. Made room for the early arrivers. Food good, baguettes could have done with butter/spread on, but nicely served. No thanks from the manager when being served at the bar, or who we passed as we left. Shame, good manners cost nothing.”

  “We popped in here for lunch ( brie bacon cranberry ciabatta) and from there ended up booking three evening meals and not one disappointed. The portions were generous the quality fantastic and the service was brilliant pricing was as expected. Highly recommended . My favourite was the chicken burrito, the New Jersey chicken and the fish and chips.”
