Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the welcome from the landlord and his staff, described as friendly, helpful and lovely, including by visitors from Yorkshire and out of town who felt made welcome. Food comes close behind: the tapas is called fresh and packed with flavour, two reviewers praise the pies, with one urging others to try them, and pepperoni loaded fries get a mention. A long-time regular says good food was missing before the current management and rates the Directors as rather good, while another notes real ales on tap. One reviewer sampled a cheese board and would like to see it on the menu. Quiz night and a card game made one group's trip a highlight. The function room behind the bar earns praise for family parties and a gathering of about 30 with room to sit and dance, and the buffet was plentiful enough that the landlord provided pizza boxes for the leftovers.

“I spent Friday evening here with about 30 friends having booked the function room behind the bar. The space was perfect for us, we could sit and chat and have enough room for everyone to dance at the same time! Lovely outdoor seating if we needed fresh air. Mark, the pub landlord, was incredibly friendly, helpful, attentive and accommodating. The bar staff were great too and a big thanks to Connor and the lovely team. You’re a credit to the place. We had ordered a buffet and it was very reasonably priced and delicious. The food was plentiful and Mark kindly provided pizza boxes for us to take the leftovers home. I can’t comment on the beer but there is a good selection of wines at a fair price. I didn’t hear any complaints!! The pub has a great atmosphere and was busy but welcoming. I’ll be happy to visit again and won’t hesitate to organise another ‘do’ in the back room. Thanks again to Mark and your lovely staff!”
