Customer Review Summary
The full English breakfast is what reviewers return to most, praised as a proper, good quality plate with excellent coffee, a good cup of tea and plenty of cakes alongside. Close behind, one reviewer calls a Christmas turkey sandwich the best they have had, and another singles out a sweet potato and ginger soup. Portions split opinion. One reviewer struggled to finish the breakfast, while several say it comes with just one sausage and one rasher of bacon, and others describe an omelette no thicker than a pancake and a tiny extra bacon portion. Prices draw repeated complaints, including drinks, and one reviewer found the Darjeeling tea vile and the eggs Benedict tasteless. Service is also mixed: staff are called friendly and quick by some, while others describe food that arrived cold or very late after an internet outage, which ended in a refunded coffee. A few mention shabby tables, rusty radiators and a badly ripped sofa. Dogs are welcome inside, and the regulars note the menu rarely changes.

“Stopped by for a breakfast this morning, £29:65 for two breakfasts (one with extra black pudding) and two drinks feels excessive but in truth it's the price of the drinks that were the issue. £11 for each breakfast plus whatever it was for the black pudding is actually priced about right considering it's good quality ingredients cooked well. A can of coke with a plastic cup and room temperature orange juice were definitely overpriced. I understand the shabby chic aesthetic but rusty radiators, dirty tables, windowsills and toilet isn't it. Staff were efficient if not particularly friendly, the sort of place I wouldn't hesitate to go back to but wouldn't go out of my way too.”

“Nice toasted sandwich -tuna/cheese but would prefer coleslaw in a pot. Gets busy-however the day we went they did shut part off so everyone was at one end so rather loud”

“It is a wheelchair friendly place as I am a wheelchair user and the food was brilliant the service was brilliant and it was lovely to sit outside”

“Shbby tables, expect a tip when you order and very poor vale for money. Wife had a 3 egg omelette with extra cheese and ham £11.50 and when it came - no thicker than a pancake. I had sausage sandwich at £6.50, nice bread but only seemed to be 1 sausage and that was well over done. As people left the ambient temperature went down so the heating not very efficient. Been here before and it has gone down and the menu never changes and not a great deal of choice. All in all, not the best place.”
