About Café 29
Café 29 is a family-run cafe in Wolverhampton that hosts group events such as bridal brunches and baby showers, with decorations allowed and dietary requirements accommodated. The kitchen prepares a cooked breakfast of fried egg, bacon, sausage, hash brown and mushrooms, alongside brioche French toast for those who prefer something sweeter. Afternoon tea brings sandwiches, a sharing plate, cakes and scones to the table. A specials board sits next to the regular menu, so there is something different to look at on each visit. The cafe was recently refurbished. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly, welcoming staff come up most, especially around group celebrations. Reviewers describe a bridal brunch and two baby showers where the team handled large parties, catered to dietary requirements and varied drinks orders, and let guests put up their own decorations. Close behind are the baking and coffee. Reviewers name the brioche French toast, scones, rocky road, jammy shortbread and a chocolate brownie, along with good coffee and a vanilla latte. One diner found a small breakfast with a runny fried egg, bacon and sausage cooked to perfection. Breakfast draws mixed comments, though. Another reviewer found the eggs cooked too fast, crispy on the bottom with hard yolks, and the hash brown and mushrooms very greasy, though the bacon and sausages were very good. A separate review says the tables are crammed too close together when it is busy, so diners had to ask neighbours to move before they could leave their seats. One afternoon tea party left with more cakes than they could finish.

“Food and service were good.Love the new look. This is a very popular place, and so the tables are crammed in..too close together. It was busy when we visited and we had to ask other diners to move so we could get up from our table I appreciate why they put so many tables in but ultimately it leads to a poorer environment for customers to enjoy their meal in”

“Cafe29 has always been a favourite of mine since moving to the area, but I cannot thank the staff enough for providing the best care, food and service during my baby shower on the weekend! They accommodated such a large group with consideration of dietary requirements and made it such a welcoming atmosphere. The recent refurb alone is worth visiting but I couldn't recommend this cafe enough! Their specials board is definitely worth coming for too!! They're also wheelchair accessible which has been super handy for our regular family breakfasts.”

“Great coffee, great cakes. No more needed to say but I will anyway... As someone who doesn't really like chocolate brownies I couldn't help finishing my son's off when he was too full! It was really good, the rocky road, scone and jammy shortbread were also top quality.”

“Decent cafe with good coffee. The breakfast is alright but the eggs are cooked too fast so become crispy on the bottom and yolks a bit too hard. Hash brown and mushrooms very very greasy. Bacon and sausages very good though.”

“My friends recently held my baby shower here and what a lovely time we had! There was plenty of food and plenty to take away with us. We were allowed to put up our decorations which was a lovely touch, we were made to feel so welcome and the staff were very accommodating with all the different drinks orders and dietary requirements. Everybody who came commented what a lovely cafe it was and how great the food was!”
