Customer Review Summary
Homemade cakes and desserts draw the most praise here, from a birthday spread called picture-perfect and delicious to a carrot cake one visitor called superb and the divine luxury hot chocolate paired with a tuna melt. Close behind, reviewers repeatedly single out the bacon butties, fresh lunches, and hot pots served with tea and coffee, and several mention being seated and fed quickly even with allergies or large groups. The cosy barn interior and outdoor garden and yard seating come up often too, with dogs welcomed outside and children's parties accommodated smoothly. Staff are consistently described as kind, polite, and personable, going out of their way during a child's birthday party and remembering allergy needs. One reviewer notes that upstairs seating gets tight in busy winter periods and suggests booking ahead. The recurring closing image across reviews is of first-time visitors, drawn in after passing by for years or spotting the place on a map, vowing to return.

“We had no idea this little gem existed but it appeared on my Google Maps, and is it was so close we thought we'd give it a go... and we're so glad we did! From the second we arrived, staff greeted us personally and could not have done enough to look after us. The atmosphere was so cozy and friendly and honestly staff could not have done enough. Really personable and even provided a great laugh throughout. Homemade cakes and great drinks on offer. What not to love. Can't wait to come back soon in the nice weather and take advantage of sitting in the ample outdoor seating area with our dogs. Thank you everyone for your great service today!”

“I've passed this cafe every work day for 20 years and today was the first time I'd popped in! Service was excellent, seated quickly. Nothing was too much trouble, food allergy was fully understood. Food was delivered in good time and was delicious. Staff were very pleasant. Parking was good. Only disappointment was that we hadn't been here sooner. Will definitely return. Thank you 🙂”

“We recently celebrated our little girl’s birthday at this adorable café, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish! The space itself is so cute and beautifully decorated, which made it ideal for a children’s party. The food was truly delicious! Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and kid-friendly while still being enjoyable for adults. The desserts were definitely a highlight — not only were they picture-perfect, but they tasted just as amazing as they looked. The staff were very kind, and incredibly helpful throughout the party. They made sure everything ran smoothly, which allowed us to actually enjoy the day without stress. Overall, it was such a sweet and memorable experience. If you’re looking for a charming spot to host a little girl’s birthday party with amazing food and a lovely atmosphere, this café is a perfect choice. Highly recommend!”

“What a lovely local place. Four of us had a enjoyable selection of lunches with hot pots tea and coffee. Not one to post review and one who is a fussy eater but thoroughly enjoyed lunch, everything so fresh. Restricted room upstairs if in crowds so booking advisable if its winter”
