Quick info
About Bull Codsall
Bull Codsall is a Marston's pub in Codsall, Wolverhampton, set in a historic building. The kitchen cooks roast dinners, including a turkey roast and a beef dinner, alongside fish and chips and lasagne. A weekly steak day narrows the choice to two cuts, rump or sirloin, so the grill menu has a clear focus on that day. The bar carries a selection of beers, which gives a drink option for each of those plates. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along for a meal or a pint.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the Bull for its home-style food, with the Sunday beef dinner singled out as always cooked perfectly. Close behind are the burgers and fries and a lasagne one diner called among the best they had had, plus a rump steak on steak day and a mac and cheese with popcorn chicken. Staff draw praise in nearly every review, described as friendly, helpful and welcoming, with one family noting that they remember a child's food preferences. Several mention a good beer selection and a welcoming atmosphere, and one reviewer who uses a wheelchair calls access perfectly adequate. The recurring complaint is cost. One regular says prices are far higher than elsewhere and will not return soon after a special occasion visit, while another found a pint and a blackcurrant and soda steep, though the two turkey roast dinners were very nice. One visitor arriving during a wake still had two burgers and a lasagne come out very quickly.

“We stumbled on The Bull by accident and have now been 4 times. The food is simple home cooking at its best. Thursday is steak day. I was dubious at first as only rump or sirloin are available. However, I was pleasantly surprised as the rump was excellent and perfectly cooked. The staff are super friendly and always ready to help. I visit with my 2 friends. One of which is in a wheelchair. Access is perfectly adequate. The whole place has a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Good food. Lovely staff and a friendly atmosphere. In an historic building. What more could you ask for.”
