About The Whitesmiths Arms
The Whitesmiths Arms is a pub at 88 Standishgate in Wigan, just across the ring road from the town centre. Karaoke nights run here, and a private dining room gives groups a place to dine together. The kitchen serves Sunday roasts and a burger menu with chicken and beef burgers alongside veggie and vegan options. At the bar, the pub pours ales plus the usual bar drinks, and milkshakes are on the list too. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the burgers, with a chicken burger cooked perfectly and a veggie burger called the "No-Fun-Guy" singled out as the best one a diner had had in years. Close behind are the vegan options and the huge portions, along with a breakfast described as perfectly cooked and cheap. Milkshakes, including a white chocolate one made for a three year old, and chicken wings with a choice of sauce also get a mention, and one diner says the Sunday roasts looked good enough to come back for. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming, and food arrived hot and fresh with drinks within minutes. The terraced area and outdoor booths draw praise, as does the spacious interior, where one party's electric wheelchair was easily accommodated through the side door. The one complaint comes from a reviewer who dislikes the karaoke and listening to people sing badly, so would not stay long. Another describes the place as buzzing on a Friday, and a family says the chef came out happy to hear the food had gone down a treat.

“Looks nice now and great in the summer. Not so keen on the karaoke and listening to people sing badly so it's not a place if stay in for long. Overall it's still worth a visit.”

“Visited here today with my family (6 in total and a little one ☺️) and it was really fabulous! It looks like it’s been recently taken over and re-opened with a new menu. The menu consists of lots of burger choices, chicken and beef and 2 veggie burger options. I had the “No-Fun-Guy” burger, best veggie burger I’ve had for years! I wish I’d taken a picture of the menu as there’s lots to choose from. They also do chicken wings with a sauce of your choosing, topped fries amongst other sides to go with your meal. They do an amazing selection of milkshakes and the lovely man behind the bar made my 3 year old Nephew a delicious white chocolate one. The guy serving us all today was fantastic, really nice and welcoming and couldn’t do enough. The chef seemed equally as lovely and was happy to hear the food had gone down a treat for us all. Wishing them all the success with the pub moving forward.”
