Customer Review Summary
The complaints are specific. One Mother's Day party received three Camembert starters that came out cold and rock solid, and two of the replacements tasted of ammonia, with slow service between courses. Another diner found a dark room, lukewarm food and carrots too hard to cut. In both cases staff were described as polite and offered something back, such as another dish, free puddings or a discount.

“We had such a lovely meal and Shelly made the whole experience even better. She was great fun, incredibly welcoming, and made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. We ordered nachos, the OAP fish and chips, and two burgers for the kids. Everything was tasty, well presented, and excellent value. The kids eating for just £1 with each adult meal is a brilliant offer too. A huge thank you to Shelly for looking after us so well. Her friendly personality and sense of humour really made our visit special. We’ll definitely be back!”

“Very accommodating after an error with my online booking - user error! Homemade pies highly recommended and I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken skewers - cooked to perfection. Would also recommend the Pornstar Martinis, best I’ve ever had. Very friendly staff and a great atmosphere.”

“Red House Farm has been completely transformed by the new owners. It literally used to be somewhere I’d walk straight past on my way to a night out elsewhere whereas now it’s somewhere I’m genuinely happy to go. We took friends on Saturday evening and the food was excellent. You can tell everything is made on the premises, which makes a real difference to the quality. The steak pie was fabulous, and (rarest of things in a pub and a huge indicator that the kitchen team actually know what they’re doing) they can produce a correctly cooked rare steak! Brilliant to see a local pub done properly. Keep it up!”

“Beautiful fresh homemade food. 5 of us popped in for lunch today we had fresh made dough pizza & chips, steak pie mash & veg. 2 plates of fresh made bread dough with 2 large chicken& pepper skewers, salad & coleslaw. 1 dessert & drinks. We all came away very happy with what we ate, if you cannot finish it off they kindley wrap it up to bring it home with you. Large servings & small plates if your a small eater, just ask them and they will accommodate. We felt it was good value for money plus lovely to have fresh home made food instead of the fast food type. Will definitely be calling back again Dog friendly. Car park at side of property. Nice atmosphere & very friendly staff.”

“We came here for Mother’s Day and the meal started off well. For starters we had the haddock soup and the prawn cocktail, both of which were lovely. Unfortunately the Camembert was a big let down. We ordered three and all three came out freezing cold and rock solid in the middle. They were taken away and brought back out again, but two of them then had a strong ammonia taste and were completely inedible, although one was fine. For something that should be a simple starter, this was really disappointing. The service was also quite slow between courses, which didn’t help the overall experience. We did complain and the staff did try to resolve it. They asked if we wanted anything else – I declined, but my father-in-law ordered another prawn cocktail which was nice. For our mains we all had the Sunday dinners and they were lovely. However, the issues with the Camembert and the slow service did take the shine off what should have been a special Mother’s Day meal. While the staff were polite and tried to make things right, it was still a disappointing experience overall.”
