About The Grey Horse
The Grey Horse is a local pub on Shiremoor in Newcastle Upon Tyne, and it is open daily. Regulars at this pub know one another, which makes it a place where people come to see familiar faces. A pool table and a jukebox give customers something to play and listen to, and TVs on the walls show sports for anyone who wants to follow a game. The bar does not sell cask ales. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along when they visit.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers describe The Grey Horse as a local pub where everyone seems to know one another, yet newcomers say they were not made to feel like outsiders. The friendly staff and the welcome from the locals come up most, with one visitor saying it felt like being with a bunch of friends despite knowing only one person. Several mention the pool table and jukebox, and others point to good prices, a good pint, and TVs on every wall showing sports. One reviewer calls the landlady a real diamond, and another says the staff keep an eye on how much drink is left in a glass. Dog-friendliness is noted by a couple of reviewers. The criticism is split. One regular calls it an awful place with rude staff and an unwelcoming atmosphere, which they say is a shame as it is their local. Another, who drinks cask ale, found none on sale and so felt it did not hit the spot, though they thought the pub seemed clean and friendly. One reviewer sums it up as a local pub for local people, where all are welcome.

“Old pub in Shiremoor. Only ever popped in for a swift one on the way home from Town. I don't think that they do food, but it is dog-friendly. It seems clean and friendly, but sells no cask ales, so, to me it doesn't hit the spot, cask ale being what I drink.”
