  “This place used to be amazing ! It's gone way down , in a few ways. The outside is full of weeds and barrels that should have plants are full of weeds . At the back is a mess that needs sorted rotting gates , windows etc. Inside sticky tables, dirty toilets and menu that looks good but tastes basic . In on a Saturday and 3 couples in at 8.30 .Staff turn over is bad too. Please sort out this place or it will go !”

  “The food and service was spot on! Served unbelievably quickly. Staff were great and friendly. Sadly the place has become very tired. Needs a makeover asap. Dirty and faded toilets and a lot of the furnishings are badly worn. Food on the floor from families and their kids chucking it all over, but not bothering to pick it up. Not fully the bars fault, but it was still on the floor for an age, after the table had left.”

  “Had a fantastic meal at Shiremoor House Farm Pub and honestly couldn’t fault it. The food was absolutely spot on from start to finish, with generous portions and everything cooked perfectly. The burger was juicy, full of flavour, and stacked with fresh toppings, while the crispy onion rings and fries on the side were the perfect addition. The fish sandwich was another highlight — beautifully cooked, crispy on the outside, soft and flaky inside, and even better with the rich gravy on the side. The loaded fried chicken nachos were incredible too, packed with crispy chicken, fresh chillies, and loads of flavour. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, exactly what you want from a great local pub, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. Service was quick, the food came out fresh, and the whole experience felt great value for money. Definitely one of the best pub food spots around the area — will 100% be back again!”

  “Love the place itself. Menus are made with waterproof coating so they can be wiped down. Please give them a wipe. Nothing worse than dried food on a menu. Now... service. Very friendly and attentive staff. I would say a little too friendly we both had full mouths and at that moment get asked if all was okay. Just bad timing but we are the type that prefer to eat undisturbed usually anyway. Food, It looked amazing on arrival. Huge onion rings, fries, a chicken goujon burger and a steak burger with the same sides. The steak burger was dripping oil onto the plate and made the bun soggy. I was looking forward to the onion rings as they looked great, they were really disappointing. The batter was oily and tasted of fish. I was left feeling disappointed and half of the food was left on the plate. I did tell the staff before leaving but instead of the "sorry about that, I can make sure the chef knows" I was given the "we have 4 seperate fryers and use a special one so the onion rings dont make everything else taste of onion" speech. I'm well aware of how business kitchens operate I've managed places like this before. Such a shame, but wont be back I can get a tastier chicken burger from KFC and it doesnt cost £32 for two people.”

  “I think the heavy stone walls and floors of the Shiremoor Farm restaurant and bar, coupled with the heavy dark brown furniture, give the place a unique feel, almost timeless, like it could have been last decorated in the 90s. Having said that, I have visited many times over the years, and the food has always been OK. On my recent visit on a Saturday lunchtime, we just shared three small plates between two in the bar area, and everything lived up to our expectations! It is bar service in the bar section and table service in the restaurant section, which totally look like the same area but one is bookable.”

  “100pc great day yesterday. food? brilliant in fact 1st time ever I've had steak without fat! service? the guy who looked after us was attentive and polite and fun. so much so he even came out after the meal etc and as we were in the car park and told my brother he needed a refund of the deposit he'd paid! that's honesty all over! atmosphere? relaxed and happy,!”

  “Stopped off for some wine and snacks/ small plates. Staff were friendly, the wine was good and the food was tasty. Started getting loud with kids around 16:00.”

  “The best Sunday dinner we’ve had in a long time. Great Sunday Dinner that arrived really quick, it’s also Dog friendly, absolutely perfect for us. Huge portions, friendly staff, Well worth the money.”
