“Food ok....cottage pie clearly reheated and it stayed very hot for ages. Almost everything had gluten in it, even items that may normally not. When asking about GF options, all we got was "scan the QR code" this seems to be a very poor trend now. On a plus side the cheese souffle starter was GF and very pleasant.”

“We stopped off here yesterday for lunch, lovely pub and atmosphere. However, as you can see from my picture, this is how a steak sandwich cooked to ‘medium’ looks like.. Shocking really that any trained chef who can clearly see this as it’s actually sliced can send this out of the kitchen to be served like that, let alone serving staff, surely someone should be picking up on this ? It’s not even medium rare, no medium comes close to this sandwich. No check back so I just ate most of it as was hungry, and left the very rare bits to the side. Least the onions and chips were cooked I suppose .. Shame really as the pub is very nice..”

“Had a very weird dining experience. The weather was beautiful so we chose to sit outside having booked a table for dining. Went to the bar to order and three staff were chatting between themselves and didn't acknowledge me. Eventually one said to the other two 'oh by the way I'm not serving' so one of the other staff took my drinks order. I explained we wanted food and had booked and was told it's self service of we sit outside (no problem) when my husband went to order he was told we aren't really allowed to order starters outside unless we order starters then go back inside and order mains. When the starters arrived we were told again by staff to let them know we had finished starters as they 'dont usually serve starters outside' it was very odd! I could understand if they had said because you're outside just let us know when you're finished starters but we kept being told starters are not allowed outside. We felt uncomfortable and didn't order dessert. The food and drink and setting itself was wonderful but the service from the staff let it down. I felt like they didn't want us there and couldn't be bothered with us like we were inconveniencing them. I think some customer service retraining is required. I enjoyed the meal but I wouldn't go back on account of the service.”

“Took our two little children to this pub for early dinner- no reservation. they were very child friendly and the staff were lovely and welcoming. Kid’s fish fingers were especially yummy as was the Jude’s ice cream. Seemed popular even though it was midweek. We sat outside in the shade”
