Customer Review Summary

The caveats are the roast dinner and desserts. One large Easter Sunday party found the roast chicken extremely dry, the beef tough, the roast potatoes under-cooked and the mash like instant, with no lamb on offer and most leaving hungry. Another reviewer was let down by a trifle sundae that was mostly cream with barely a strawberry, and a promised replacement never arrived.

“Really lovely place for drinks, food or both. Very grateful that they were able to cater for such a large group of us. 11 adults and 8 children. So thank you very much for this. The main meals and kids meals are great value and are really delicious. But desserts are hit and miss. My husband's dessert lovely. Mine, not so much. 4.5/5 due to a disappointing trifle sundae. Pulls the rating down. As a breastfeeding mama a sweet treat needs to hit and this just didn't 😔 on the menu it sounded perfect, strawberries, custard, ice cream and jelly 🤤 but in reality it was a glass half full of cream and I didn't even get one whole strawberry. Just some little slice on top. I did take it back to the bar and staff were lovely and said they would sort out a replacement but that never came. 😥 The disappointing dessert was the only negative. Really great experience with my family. Also great facilities for changing little ones bottom in the childresn loo. Really lovely and clean. I would like to see baby changung facilities in the men's loo though, my hubby wanted to change our little one but couldn't. It fell on me to do it as only available in the female loos.”

“Today i visited with my three adult grandchildren, we was pleasantly served by a lovely gent and then we had our meals brought out by the young waitress, my grandchildren were not very forthcoming with their manners to speak up when asked if it was their meal, I told them off infront of the waitress and I apologised to her too, she just looked at me , said its ok, no smile back, I figured she was annoyed with them so put it down to that, she then returned with more drinks to which I noticed she still seemed like she didn't want to be at work, I actually felt awkward after apologising to her because of her lack of professionalism. I get we all have bad days but it did make me feel annoyed and I was going to tell the lady behind the bar but I thought nope I don't know what she could be going through so I left it. Its the first time ive come across a lack of enthusiasm of a staff member. However the steaks and burger were absolutely tasty as my grandkids told me..and they are usually fussy eaters. Anyway hopefully next time it will be different. We was on table 29 at 2 pm. Thankyou to the first staff member for welcoming us.”
