About Brewhouse & Kitchen - Dorchester

Brewhouse & Kitchen in Dorchester is a brewpub on Weymouth Avenue, set next to a neighbouring cinema with a car park opposite that is free after 6pm. The brewhouse anchors the room, and visitors can book a "brewer for the day" to spend time on the kit and produce their own batch of beer. The kitchen runs a menu that includes a Spicy Mac burger, a buttermilk chicken burger and a beef Sunday roast, with a Tuesday deal of burger, fries and a pint. The bar pours the pub's own beers alongside a Juicy Crush cider made on site. Dogs are welcome in the space. Orders can be placed at the bar or through an app, and the venue runs as both a bar and a restaurant under one roof.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often point to the brewing day experience, describing it as a great day with a brewer who shared plenty of knowledge about the brewing process. Food and a good range of beers get praise too, including a fresh Juicy Crush cider and a buttermilk chicken burger. One reviewer calls the Sunday beef roast one of the worst meals in years, with thin, room temperature meat and watery gravy.

“One of the worst meals I’ve had in a very long time. I ordered the beef Sunday roast and genuinely don’t think I’ve ever been served beef this bad. It was thin, room temperature meat with the texture of chewing a tyre, and almost impossible to eat. The gravy was watery and the vegetables were completely overcooked. I don’t expect anything near perfection from a pub roast, but this was nowhere near an acceptable standard. Easily one of the worst meals I’ve had in years”

“Went in here after visiting the neighbouring cinema. We went on a Tuesday which was 'Burger, Fries & a Pint for £13.95'. There is a £1 addition on some of the bigger burgers but it still was very affordable. Service was quick and easy - could order on the app or via a person. However, you can't make amendments or leave notes on the app so if you wanted anything changed it was easier to order in person. Pints were very tasty - we had a Juicy Crush cider which is made by B&K and was fresh and not flat at all. Food wise we had two burgers. The Spicy Mac was good however they forgot the onion ring but the Mac & Cheese in the burger was tasty. We also had a buttermilk chicken burger which was cooked well and had a good amount of sauce and lettuce. Chilled out atmosphere - a good choice for adults as opposed to the Nando's or various Italians. Parking in the car park opposite is free after 6pm so makes it an affordable evening out.”
