About Ocean Breeze Beach Bar
Ocean Breeze Beach Bar is a family-run bar in Portland, on Victoria Square beside the Chesil stretch, with views across Chesil Beach. The menu runs to 21 dishes, with burgers at the centre. The Beast is a burger with two smashed patties and optional jalapeños, and a buttermilk chicken burger sits alongside it. Cocktails, draft beer and milkshakes cover the drinks, and ice creams and homemade cakes round out the list. The rear garden overlooks a kids' skate park, so parents can sit with a drink while keeping an eye on the children. Dogs are welcome. Live music plays in summer, including over the bank holiday weekend, and football is shown on the screens. The bar opens on Monday nights, and the car park has plenty of space.

Customer Review Summary
Burgers draw the most praise, led by the Beast Burger, which one reviewer describes as two enormous smashed patties with cheese and jalapeños and the best burger they have ever eaten. Close behind is the buttermilk chicken burger, called one of the better burgers a diner has had in years, and several others simply call the burgers delicious. Reviewers also single out the draft beer, the milkshakes, live music over a bank holiday weekend and views across Chesil Beach. Parents mention the skatepark right behind the bar, and the owner and bartender come up repeatedly as friendly and chatty. Criticism is limited but specific. One local reviewer says staff were rude for asking a group to be quiet during a football match, reports that a staff member barged past their child, and calls the place run down. Another found the portions small and the burger patty under seasoned. One diner's food ran late because the cook was out, and the owner apologized profusely for the delay.

“Went here with my daughter, a couple of mates and their kids. Lovely setting, great atmosphere, everyone happy. All very nice. But unfortunately I ordered the Beast Burger, added jalapeños, and now I have a problem. It’s been 24 hours and I’m still thinking about it. Two enormous smashed patties, cheese, filthy crispy edges, jalapeños, salad doing just enough admin to technically make it a balanced meal. Absolutely outrageous. Genuinely the best burger I’ve ever eaten. And I don’t say that lightly because I’ve eaten an irresponsible number of burgers. I’m now back home, trying to get on with my life, and instead I’m wondering when it would be socially acceptable to drive two hours back to Portland for another one. Five stars. Completely ruined other burgers for me.”

“I dont usually write reviews but this place deserves it. Bodi the owner and curly the bartender was extremely friendly and chatty. The place had a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. food was good priced and took about 10-15 minutes only because the cook was out and Bodi profusely apologized about the delay however i dont think anywhere has beaten that time in this area. wish i came here sooner than i did. great place to bring kids too as there is a skatepark right outside, aswell as chesil beach + great milkshakes highly recommend”
