  “We have been here a few times since moving into area and have generally enjoyed the food, today was a huge let down though. Both of us had the carvery and found the meat to be beautuful and tasty but all the vegetables and gravy sadly were cold and only the roasties were warm. Informed the youngman waiting tables and the response was an apology and that he would inform the chef. Will not be rushing to have the carvery again. Just as an update, both of us felt nauseous during the night ..... coincidence???? It has somewhat put me off eating there for now.”

  “Took my mum here for Sunday lunch, she opted for the chicken tikka curry, I went with medium carvery. My mum really enjoyed her meal and we paid a little extra for poppadoms and chutney and my carvery was lush. Highly recommend, the staff checked if we were happy with meal, all smiles like they really enjoyed their jobs. If you're thinking about going here, there's plenty parking and the atmosphere was nice and quiet with pent tv screens around if interested in news etc”

  “Took friends visiting for the day, to the Tavern for lunch. We all opted for the carvery and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The service was excellent and the staff were all very friendly. Loved it and looking forward to the next time.”

  “A great location, good car park with handy EV charger. Food is mediocre. Jacket potato was lukewarm and the tuna and spring onion was too wet and a bit bland. Chicken and bacon wrap could benefit from a small side salad instead of the green weeds they current serve it with. Steak ciabatta was just ‘ok’, just again a bit bland. Tea was soo weak, we asked for additional tea bags. Toilets are exceptionally clean and smell fresh. There were board games for the kids which was a great touch. Staff are very helpful and friendly and are a real credit to the venue.”

  “We booked a table for 6 and a baby, we arrived to find we'd been sandwiched in between 2 other groups with no room for a high chair or buggy making it a squeeze for all involved. Common sense, you'd put us on and end table but hey ho. Staff were present, not much offered above and beyond what can I get you. The food was ok, we had the carvery, most of it looked like it had been sat under hot lights a while so was getting shrivelled and a crisp on the surface but it was a decent price compared to some places but then I'd rather have paid a bit more for fresher nicer produce. We Wouldn't rush back.”

  “I visited with my daughter recently and unfortunately the food was really disappointing. We both ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans, which should be a simple, comforting dish—but it really missed the mark. The potato tasted like it had been cooked days in advance and reheated, leaving it dry and lacking freshness. The beans and cheese were completely tasteless, with no real flavour to lift the dish at all. To top it off, it was served with a very uninspired piece of lettuce on the side, which just felt like an afterthought. Overall, it felt like very little care had gone into the meal, which was a shame as we were looking forward to a nice time together. I mentioned to the waitress our disappointment but unfortunately all her reply was "I'm sorry"”

  “This is a large pub-restaurant with a modern and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the visit, which made for a very pleasant dining experience. The food was of good quality and well presented. The restaurant also offers a carvery option for those who prefer it, and there is an excellent selection of desserts available, which are well worth trying. Overall, it is definitely worth a visit and I would happily return in the future. The surrounding complex also has a few shops to browse, and the windmill nearby is a particularly interesting feature to see while you are there.”

  “Visited the Tavern earlier this week, one of Joseph Holt's pubs situated in the picturesque craft village of Marsh Mill in Thornton-Cleveleys and sampled their recently launched Spring menu.
