About Ma Kelly’s
Ma Kelly's is a live music bar in Blackpool at 62 Foxhall Rd, built around a mix of karaoke, live acts and a DJ on the mic. Posters advertising the week's music are displayed in the bar, and a glass collector wanders between the tables. The venue is one of a chain of similarly themed bars, with a larger Ma Kelly's North operating as a separate venue elsewhere. This original bar is the smaller of the two and has no real dance floor.

Customer Review Summary
Karaoke is the main draw at this live music bar, with reviewers praising the up to date song choice, a professional sound system and hosts who are decent singers. Live acts come close behind and are described as really good, and a DJ who voices the entertainment on the mic gets a mention too. The bar staff are called friendly, pleasant and funny, a glass collector is always wandering about, and drinks are described as cheap and reasonably priced. Weekends are very busy. The main complaint concerns sound and space. One reviewer found a singer drowned out by the instrumental track, moved seats because their ears were sore, and said other visitors agreed it sounded like a rabble. Others note the bar is smaller than the chain's North venue with no real dance floor, and one says the lack of dancing during Covid spoiled the experience. Even so, one pair who dropped in around 9.40pm describe staff, punters and performers all laughing and grooving until they were asked to leave at closing.

“Went here on a recommendation, was not disappointed. Was busy, karaoke was on, people running it were decent singers. Good atmosphere, felt like everyone was out for a good time. Lot's of posters advertising music for the week. Service was efficient, glass collector was always wandering about. Definitely worth a visit.”

“There just now fantastic pub and atmosphere..But singer on just now sounds fantastic in background but drowing herself out with instrumental had to move seats as ears were sore . Tried to catch her during break to tell her it sounds like a rabble and other visitors agreed ..so please turn down your instrumental it's drawing you out x x”
