About The Velvet Coaster
The Velvet Coaster is a pub in Blackpool at 501-507 Promenade, set over three floors with seating on each level. A glass elevator and stairs link the floors, and the middle level has a rooftop bar with views of the sea. The menu pairs a range of ales with British food, and the open-front kitchen is visible from the dining area. Customer Review Summary
Diners most often point to the three floors, with a glass elevator, a rooftop bar, sea views and a middle level outside that one reviewer calls lovely in hot weather. Food is close behind: reviewers praise quick service even when busy and a breakfast with plenty of choice. One singles out the JD chicken burger, where the JD sauce stood out, alongside crispy onion rings, and a companion loved the chicken burger topped with slow-cooked pulled beef. Beer is called good. The main complaint is power cuts: two reviewers describe the electrics going off around 5pm, one of them on all three visits, with everyone asked to leave for the evening. One calls the toilets disgusting with no toilet roll, and one reports staff handling fried eggs by hand in the open kitchen. Another says a shift manager sorted out a long-delayed all day breakfast in no time.

“Our favourite wetherspoons ever, I met my bit of fluff in a spoons after becoming a widow and was really sad and right fed up for a while, so now after finding happiness again we love all spoons (Tamworth) is up there too, but when we come Blackpool The velvet coaster is such a big part of our fun, three levels and when it's hot it's lovely on the middle level outside. Just sitting watching the world go by, a bit of dinner and loads of talking and laughing. It's a happy place and we love it. Food is always served quickly no matter how busy, beers are always good.”

“Food was lovely, plenty to choose from for all of them family with having a fussy eater and a vegetarian in the family. Staff were nice and polite especially a young lad who I think was a shift manager. We were waiting ages for one meal (the all day breakfast) and he sorted out in no time. No rudeness or excuses. I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be visiting again.”

“Honestly this place is astetically on e of the best whetherspoons and staff are friendly enough, one of the best whetherspoons views I've been too! Food is crap, beer is good, I would honestly ring thos place before going we've been 3 times now on different days and months and they had a power cut everytime, either they need to sort there electrics or something dodgy is going on. It spoilt our experience at the velvet as your enjoying your time and next minute power goes and everyone has to leave for the rest of the evening. Sort it out velvet please!”
