Quick info
About Ma Kellys
Ma Kellys is a bar in Blackpool, at 67 Talbot Rd, with live entertainment running from late morning until late. The lineup includes cabaret, karaoke nights, singing acts, a DJ and an Elvis tribute act, with a comedian also on the bill. A dance floor sits alongside the stage acts, and the music is very loud. Seating is split between upstairs and downstairs, with the bar on the ground floor. The layout suits groups, since only a couple of small tables serve singles or pairs, so expect to share. Bouncers and security staff work the door and inside the venue.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the live entertainment, and the Elvis tribute act is the one named most, with one group returning on a Sunday afternoon to see it and another pairing it with a comedian and songs by Tina Turner. Close behind are karaoke nights, a DJ, a dance floor and a good variety of music acts, with entertainment running even on a quiet Monday night. Several describe a fun, busy crowd of locals and visitors, a good pint at a reasonable price, and bar service that is good, though one notes it can take a few minutes to be served. Loud music is flagged more than once, and seating is described as aimed at groups. The caveats are mostly about security and the surroundings. One reviewer says a bouncer told a friend to leave the dance floor for being too rowdy, and another reports being escorted out after a dispute with a man selling perfume in the gents' toilets. One calls it an expensive, noisy tourist bar with fighting outside, and another mentions people asking for money or cigarettes by the door. One visit began with both lagers unavailable upstairs and a move down to the packed bar.

“Here we have Ma Kelly's situated on Talbot Road Blackpool and on the crossroads of Dixon Road. Ma Kelly's if famous for daily entertainment that is on from 11am till late, so no matter what time of day you decide to go there will always be taste of music even the eclectic fans will not be disappointed. This venue can get extremely busy with locals and visitors alike, so please bear in mind that it may take a few mins to be served. There is plenty of seating to be found if one is there early enough, there is a wide range of drinks to suit most tastes along with bar snacks. There is a smoking area and this is by the door to the left (Dixon Road side) For those unfamiliar with this venue, please be aware of people asking you for either money or cigarettes whilst standing outside here, but I do stress this is not the fault of the venue, but the police frequently come by to keep this to a minimum, just a polite sorry not today! Apart from this, the venue is highly enjoyable and is a mix of all ages from younger to those of us who are of middle to senior citizen. Please if in Blackpool then be sure to make a visit.”

“Started as a really fun night, but the guy selling perfume in the gent’s toilet is aggressive. On one occasion, he followed me to the cubicle door shouting because I didn’t want to buy anything, and later in the night he claimed I slammed the cubicle door. I came out of the cubicle and was met by him and other bouncers; I was escorted out. Really disappointed; I spent a lot of money at this venue.”
