About Jennies Kitchen Cafe
Jennies Kitchen Cafe is an old-fashioned tea shop in Swindon, with a garden and a pair of residents on site: alpacas and a rescue donkey. The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea from a menu of 80 dishes. Breakfasts include Saxon breakfasts, waffles and bacon, and lunch brings paninis and soup. Roasted Cumin Chickpea & Carrot sits on the menu alongside vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. The cake selection is homemade, with coffee cake among the choices and the Rich Chocolate Truffle Torte for chocolate lovers. Drinks run from various teas and coffees to milkshakes and smoothies. Dogs are welcome, so walkers and cyclists can stop in with their pets.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, attentive staff, who make diners feel welcome from the door, and the freshly cooked food that follows. Breakfast draws the most specifics. The Saxon breakfasts arrive hot and well presented, the waffles and bacon are called lovely, and one diner calls the homemade coffee cake the best they have had. Lunch visitors mention paninis, soup and delicious milkshakes, while walkers stop for coffee and a huge selection of cakes. The garden is a recurring favourite, described as pretty and charming, with dogs welcome and the alpacas and rescue donkey called a delight. Inside, one reviewer finds the decor a little dated but says it adds to the charm, and another likens the atmosphere to stepping back into a grandma's house. Several say they will return. One diner describes a group of eight arriving without prior notice and being accommodated without fuss.

“Unexpected gem on last day of long weekend. Staff were friendly, helpful and basically very good at making you feel welcome. Decor is a little dated, it simply added to the charm. “Came across this restaurant purely by chance as we were driving by. Thought we would give it a go and glad we did. Excellent food while we sat in the charming garden in the sunshine. Food was simple but delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going again when we are around.”
