About The Hop Chapel
The Hop Chapel is a micro pub at 29 Thorncroft in Swindon, designed around a monastic theme. An on-site chapel is used for weddings, so the pub also works as a setting for a ceremony, and llamas live on the site. The bar serves real ales and ciders, with cask, bottle and can beers, including Broadtown brews. Guest street food vans visit, and American barbecue is part of the food on offer. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the real ales and ciders, with the beers praised on cask, bottle and can. One reviewer singles out the lager, and another says they sampled the Broadtown brews and enjoyed them. Close behind are weddings and family parties held in the chapel, where guests loved the setting and the "vibe", and one reviewer calls the surroundings beautiful for photographs. Several describe a welcome from the owners and staff, and one says the owner was knowledgeable and friendly. Others mention the outside decking with a bar, guest street food vans with American barbecue, a games basket and llamas that the grandchildren enjoyed, and a dog friendly, relaxed feel. One visitor was offered free pizza after buying drinks. The one complaint comes from a three star review, where the reviewer says registrars insist the bar closes two hours before a ceremony, which they found frustrating. Reviewers also note that the small entrance opens into a bigger car park at the back, and one calls the llamas angry.

“Stopped in thinking it was a micro brewery to get a take out, but it was a micro pub! As soon as we arrived and bought our drinks, we were offered free Dominos pizza! Great service and lovely staff, and a really good atmosphere, lovely decor etc. I wish this was my local pub! This is how all pubs should be. The ales were great as well. I want to go back, I can't recommend this pub enough.😁”

“Had our fantastic wedding in the chapel. Despite the wet weather we utilised the interior space and all the guests loved the setting and “vibe”. Big thanks to Louise and team for a special event.”

“Want to say a massive, massive, massive thank you to Jason, Lou & Sarah for looking after us at the wedding of Zoe & Ashley on Saturday 27th June at The Hop House. An intimate Chapel, lovely stage / seating area, great beers and wonderful support from all of you to make this such a special day for Zoe, Ashley, friends & family. Without doubt the best wedding I've ever been to. Beautiful surroundings made for lovely photographs and thanks for open communication and delivering the wedding of their dreams. Always a team effort, family and friends were very impressed by your hard work and support and we will return to see you whenever possible. Thanks Jason, Lou & Sarah for everything. Warmest regards and all our love Ashley's mum & dad x 😎”

“Would have been 5× but, Registrars have a problem with people buying a drink TWO hours before any ceremony and insist the bar closes. We're not all children ( or Pikeys ) and most people are well behaved. Needs a serious review. And as for the angry Llama's, well, they dont even like the regular staff. how rude lol”
