Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the Sunday roast, with the roast chicken described as tender and succulent, and several call the Sunday lunch good value. Close behind are the chicken supreme with chorizo risotto and crispy kale, fish and chips, lasagne, a baguette eaten in the garden, and a barbecue option at a wedding reception. Diners say everything is freshly prepared, portions are big, and a gluten-free ale and plenty of gluten-free choices stand out. Service comes up repeatedly as friendly and attentive, with the landlord, bar staff and waitresses singled out, and one group was found a table without booking. The atmosphere is described as relaxed, cosy and dog friendly. A returning visitor says the pub has improved noticeably under its latest management, and one reviewer suggests booking in advance for the Sunday roast. No review raises a real complaint. A party of six on a second visit says every meal at the table was excellent.

“Great beer, gluten free ale too! The food is great, I popped in for a baguette and it was amazing! I sat in their picturesce garden and ate it. Great pub, great beer, great food and great staff. Definitely worth a visit.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a fantastic visit to The Sun Inn @ Lydiard Millicent and will definitely be returning! The atmosphere is really relaxed and welcoming, making it the perfect place to unwind. The bar staff and landlord were absolutely brilliant — so friendly and attentive, they made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. Drinks are very reasonably priced, and the menu is excellent with a great variety of options. As someone who looks for gluten-free choices, I was really impressed with how many options were available — and everything we had was delicious and clearly made with care. Overall, great food, great value, and even better service. It’s also an ideal meeting spot for us and our friends as it’s perfectly located halfway between where we both live. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!”

“We had our wedding reception here and it was bloody fantastic. Dave & Amy went above and beyond to make sure all the fine details were covered, the food was amazing and the day was perfect, especially as we had use of the garden and back fields too. There is nothing that Dave & Amy won’t do to make sure everyone is happy and you have everything that you want + more. We had a BBQ option for the food and the quality was unreal, there are other food options available too. I cannot recommend this place enough”
