About The Aubrey Arms
The Aubrey Arms is a restaurant in Swansea on Gurnos Rd, open daily. Its Sunday carvery runs as a seated service. Guests take a table and are called up to the serving counter to collect their plates. The carvery offers a choice of meats and a wide selection of vegetables, including roast potatoes and roast parsnips, and the gravy is unlimited. Outside the carvery, the menu lists a full rack of ribs for those who want something other than a roast. A brownie with ice cream is among the desserts.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return to The Aubrey Arms mainly for the carvery, praising the huge portions, the wide choice of veg, and roasties and roast parsnips called the best, with gravy described as full of flavour and as much as you like. Several took leftovers home. Close behind are the ribs, with one reviewer pairing the full sticky ribs with beef burnt ends topped fries and another calling the full rack a challenge. Two groups of around 20 described food arriving without delay and service that was spot on, and one reviewer's daughter, sensitive to chilli, was helped by staff who talked it through with the chef. A brownie with ice-cream also gets a mention. The one negative is a single first-time diner who found the steak unseasoned, the onion rings and sweet potato fries bland, and the peppercorn sauce watery. That reviewer also reports watching the chef wipe sweat with an oven cloth and toss it over his shoulder. One reviewer suggests booking ahead at busy times. Another recalls a staff member checking on a daughter who was taking a long time in the toilet.

“Great location, friendly atmosphere and service staff are good. I have been to this restaurant a number of occasions recently and the food is always top quality. The portions are large and you get great quality food for a very reasonable price.”

“Beautiful venue, but the food and kitchen hygiene were a massive letdown. This was my first time eating here, and sadly, it will be my last. While the restaurant looks great and the decor is spot on, the kitchen completely missed the mark. I ordered the steak, which had zero flavour and absolutely no seasoning. The sides didn't fare any better—the onion rings and sweet potato fries were bland, and the peppercorn sauce was incredibly watery. The final straw was watching the chef wipe sweat from his head with an oven cloth and then toss it over his shoulder. It shows a worrying lack of understanding regarding basic food hygiene. Great aesthetics can't mask poor cooking and bad kitchen habits. Won't be returning.”
