  “Really lovely Sunday dinner, only thing to improve on was flavour of the cauli cheese, carrots and parsnips, they seemed to lack flavour compared to the rest of the meal. Roasties lovely, as well as the meat and gravy, would return but hope they will improve the above. All in all good value for money and really lovely staff.”

  “Lovely warm welcome. Rhys looked after us incredibly well, nothing was too much, he has a kind and friendly personna. The food was amazing, hubby had the beef brisket burger, I had the double cheese burger with a side of coleslaw, we both said the burgers were the best we'd ever had, juicy and so tasty, the coleslaw was coated in an amazing sauce, we loved every bit about our meal and the service. Decor was interesting, with a mining theme with lots of old photos to see. Shall definitely be returning!! ❤️”

  “Worst Sunday dinner I've ever had. The beef was burnt, the roast potatoes were clearly frozen, the mash tasted like frozen mash, and overall everything was completely tasteless. Even the drinks were served warm. The cauliflower cheese had barely any cauliflower in it and was just a bowl of warm, runny sauce. We paid extra for pigs in blankets, but they were tiny and had no flavour whatsoever. The only positive was the starter, which was actually nice. When we raised our concerns, we were only offered 10% off the bill and told we'd get a free drink if we came back. Realistically, we won't be returning, and I think they knew that. Looking around, there was so much food left on other tables too, which says a lot. It's such a shame because the venue itself is lovely, but unfortunately the food and the way the complaint was handled were both very disappointing.”

  “We visited the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon, upon sitting down we didn’t realise that it would only be the Sunday dinner menu available as we were hoping to try the main menu as we’ve seen many rave about it online. However, we decided to try and wish we didn’t. The starters were ok- one member of the party ordered the hash browns and it was a pitiful 2 frozen hash browns with nacho sauce not good enough for the price. I had the patè which was nice but not enough bread to accompany the patè. My partner’s starter arrived 10 minutes after the rest of us received ours and had to ask where the food was. When looking around the restaurant after people were leaving we noticed many of the tables had left huge amounts of food on their plates which was a sign of what was to come. When the main meal arrived 4 of us had the beef which was crispy and very overcooked practically inedible another person had the chicken and resembled leather rather than a juicy chicken breast we couldn’t cut into it. It was very bland and tasteless. The veg was undercooked, roast potatoes were frozen the cauliflower cheese was like wallpaper paste. No member of staff came to the table at any point to check how the food was or to offer any more drinks. Food was very poor and left half way through - we reluctantly paid and left. When we spoke to the waiter he was apologetic but failed to rectify anything. Overall leaving very disappointed as the expectations seen online did not resemble what we were served which is a shame. Would not return even to sample the main menu.”

  “Booked a table for sons birthday online. Arrived and clearly didn't have any record, however my card details were taken on booking so if a no show I'd be charged 15 per person. The food was mediocre, skin on fries rock solid and as this was a street food dish based around the fries they should have been cooked to a better standard. Service was fast when we arrived but we were 1st in there at 6.30. Once it started become more busy the one member of staff found it difficult to keep everyone served at a decent pace,however the female server was very friendly. We waited 20 mins after main dish plates being taken before we had to ask if we wanted more drinks which is then we had to ask for our dessert as no one had asked when clearing away the plates. The cheesecake was tasty but like a brick and the cream brulee supposedly comes with butter shortbread cookies, more like Scottish shortbread from a packet. Sugar was black and thick on top. Wasn't my 1st choice but at 7 in the evening a hour after service started there was no Eton mess available. All in all a very disappointing and expensive experience that we will not be doing again in the foreseeable .”

  “Ive now dined here and carnivore. Diff menu was dissapointed by this. But neverless was still fantastic. Here does win for me and this is purly down to the meat being tender where as at the carnivore it was little tough and chewy. Obvs ide still try it again to see if changed. Only thing to let it down here was the roast potatoes being so solid. Ime a gravy lover and one portion isnt enough 🤣 so did order extra 2 obvs one for me and wife not sure if was charged for it but either way i wasnt bothered. Great portion and fantastic service.”

  “Ordered from the lunch time menu, £12.99 for one course. Had peppercorn chicken, with roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips. Looks very basic in the photo, but the photo doesn't do it justice! No idea how the parsnips were cooked or what they were cooked in but my lord, they were outstanding. Enough food to satisfy at lunch.”

  “Had lunch time menu. 2 courses for £17.49. Food was fantastic. We had garlic mushroom & cheesy hash browns to start & chilli chicken loaded fries. Service was fab. Recently refurbished and looks great. 2 cocktails for £12.50, we had 2 raspberry crush. Really good.”

  “went for the first time on sat night which was bad timing for a meal with the wife as there was a live band playing which was loud so we could barely chat. however the live music was fab and the pub was bouncing - great atmosphere! i opted for the cheese burger and chips. i would only give this 5/10 as its needed a bit more lubricant within.. was quite dry. not of the same juicy quality as the front or a burger at miller and carter. however the wife had chicken with mushrooms and garlic sauce with roast veg and that was delicious. i helped her to finish it off. would go again to try the steak. Was disappointed with the cheeseburger meal and wouldn't have again.”
