Customer Review Summary
Family celebrations are what most reviewers return to The Loft for, with several describing birthday meals where staff let them bring up decorations and a cake beforehand and arranged everything in the conservatory area. Groups of 8 and 15 were handled easily, and one reviewer mentions a separate large table to one side. Sunday lunch is described as served promptly and piping hot, and generous portions and good value come up repeatedly. Among dishes, the sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and the Creme Brulee, with an actual crack on top, draw praise. The beautiful grounds and terrace views are admired, and one regular comes with the dogs. The caveats are specific. Two reviewers found the dauphinoise potatoes undercooked or just a small jacket potato, one found the tomatoes undercooked, and another called the chicken a little dry and bland. The Thai burger missed the expected flavour, the king prawns and Duck Bon Bons could have had more in them, and one reviewer called service quite slow with few diners. One reviewer wanted more fish options. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, and one says nothing was too much trouble.

“The Loft has rapidly become one of our favourite places for family celebration meals. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the prices are not over the top considering the quality of the excellent food they serve. There were only 8 of us tonight but we have had much larger groups, which they have a separate large table to one side of the restaurant. Recommended for all occasions.”

“As a family, we ate here last weekend for my son's 18 birthday. It's such a lovely place and the staff can't do enough to help you. They allowed me to take decorations & his cake up beforehand, while telling me not to worry, they will arrange everything in the space allocated for us. It was done beautifully in the conservatory area. I'm so glad I chose here to go for food. Not one of us was disappointed with any of the courses. Can't thank you all enough!”
