Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the beer, with a good selection of draft beer and cider on tap and pints described as nicely looked after and wonderfully cold. Food comes close behind: fish and chips that punched well above its weight, a steak night praised as well seasoned and tasty, sausage and mash called very filling, and a table that ordered a halloumi burger, pasta and sourdough pizza and found everything superb. A group also loved the English breakfast, and another reviewer calls the breakfast cheap, with self service coffee and tea. Prices are repeatedly called reasonable, and staff are described as friendly and attentive. The one reservation comes from a reviewer who found some dishes basic, though still well prepared. Several mention the large, clean space with booths, indoor and outdoor seating, and local history displayed in pictures. One closes on the open fire in the back dining room, where people warm up over an afternoon lunch.
