Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast is the main draw, with reviewers singling out the pork belly roast for its crispy crackling and tender meat, and the duo roast of chicken and beef, though one found the roast potatoes needed more seasoning. Diners also praise a pie meal so good one ordered another for the next day. Families repeatedly point to the play area and toys for children, and the garden and setting in the forest are mentioned as well. Staff are described as friendly and attentive, including a group of 17 who said they were well looked after after a walk. The main caveats are the food and the cost. One reviewer called the chilli prawns with orzo lacking freshness and said a rib eye came back not medium rare. Another found overdone spaghetti lacking flavour and was told the hummus and venison sharing plate was no longer on the new menu. A couple mention limited parking. One reviewer felt the cooking was better before the renovation.

“17 of us booked a lunchtime meal after a long walk in the New Forest. The staff were excellent and really looked after us. Bunny looked after out table and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and we all said we would come back for a future visit. Thank you staff. Pete.”

“Absolutely fabulous place to visit! Runs by " fullers " group and feels like home . Tonight I was served by " Rebecca " stunning lady . Full attention to the smallest details, and well done for the VIP service 👏 Definitely coming back!”

“The staff are really lovely people so no offence to them at all, but the food is really quite sub par for the price, the “chip shop” curry sauce is actually just tikka masala, the chilli prawns with orzo is nice enough but really lacking freshness, could do with a good helping of lemon or some tomatoes. The real let down was the rib eye stake for £34 the picture speaks for itself we actually had to send it back before taking this picture as was not medium rare at all, but for rib eye it doesn’t look the right thickness. Feel like pre the renovation the food quality was much better, cheaper and more consistent. For the price I’d have to say go elsewhere, hopefully it can find its spark again”

“We had a lovely afternoon at this pub. It’s perfect for children as there’s a good play area and plenty of space for them to run around without getting in other people’s way. The food was excellent and such good choices, so much so that my mum ordered an extra pie meal to have the next day. Service was friendly and delightful. Although we ate outside the inside looks really nice and they have events on through the summer too. We will definitely come back here soon.”

“What a fantastic pub! The food quality was amazing, and the setting is absolutely beautiful. It's been recently redesigned inside and looks fantastic. Really great for families too, they've got plenty of toys to keep the kids entertained while the adults relax. Highly recommend.”
