Customer Review Summary
The children's area is what reviewers raise most, and opinion splits on it. Parents praise a space big enough to watch children from the back, with craft activities and a staff member who helps while families pack up. Others found it chaotic: one described a loud pub like a soft play centre, and another objected to two 15-month-olds being moved out of an empty toddler area at around 7:00 pm without explanation. Food draws close behind, with praise for the Korean BBQ burger, a steak cooked perfectly, and generous waffles with bacon. Two reviewers wanted hotter food, and a longtime visitor says the quadzilla burger was replaced by a smaller triple stack, onion rings now cost extra and buy one get one free Fridays ended. Service ranges from cold bar staff to a team of over 30 accommodated with allergy requests, and one diner invited back after slow service found tables cleared and no waiting.

“We visited today with our children and, unfortunately, left very disappointed with the experience in the soft play area. We arrived at around 6:00 pm, and the opening hours displayed at the entrance showed that the venue was open until 8:00 pm. We were told that food orders were only being taken until 6:30 pm, which was already a little surprising given that the restaurant itself remained open later. What was particularly disappointing, however, was the way the soft play area was handled. The venue was very quiet — only around three tables were occupied, with just three children using the whole soft play area. There were no toddlers in the baby/toddler section, so our 15-month-old boys were happily playing there by themselves. At around 7:00 pm, a member of staff came over and told us that the boys had to leave the smaller baby/toddler area and use the larger soft play instead. This was very frustrating, especially as the area was practically empty and they were having such a great time. The lady then appeared to be preparing to clean the toddler area, but disappeared shortly afterwards, leaving a “Wet Floor – Do Not Enter” sign without actually cleaning it. We completely understand that staff have cleaning and closing duties, and we are always happy to cooperate. However, in this situation, we genuinely struggled to understand why two 15-month-old children had to be moved out of an empty toddler area at 7:00 pm when the venue was still open and there was hardly anyone using it. There was no explanation given, which made the whole experience even more frustrating. My question is simply: why? Why not allow two toddlers to continue enjoying an otherwise empty area until closer to closing time, especially when the venue was so quiet? We came to enjoy some family time, but unfortunately the experience left us disappointed. We hope management can look into this, as it could have been handled in a much more welcoming and reasonable way.”

“Survived the Heat... Stayed for the Korean BBQ Burger! 🌞🍔 It was so hot the day we visited I was half expecting to see someone frying an egg on the car park! We decided to sit outside in the shade because, believe it or not, it was actually cooler than sitting inside! We went with my mum and had a brilliant meal. The pub was clean, welcoming and had a lovely atmosphere. Our server was fantastic—friendly, attentive and always there when we needed anything without hovering over us. Now, let's talk about the Korean BBQ burger... wow. Absolutely incredible. One of those meals where you're already thinking about ordering it again before you've even finished it. Great food, great service and a really enjoyable visit all round. We'll definitely be back... hopefully on a slightly cooler day, but we'll definitely be ordering that burger again!”

“We always have such a great time here. It’s big enough for children to have lots of fun but still see them right through to the back to know they are safe. Zara puts out wonderful craft activities which the children love. We all have such a fun time and any time we need help Zara is always so willing to get something or just distract a little one whilst we’re packing up etc. Highly recommend others to visit. Food is great too, we always have lunch or breakfast and it’s very reasonably priced.”

“I recently visited The Vine Inn and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. From the moment we walked in, the welcome from the bar staff felt cold and uninviting, as if our presence was more of an inconvenience than anything else. I asked about ordering food later on and whether we needed to book a table, only to be told quite abruptly that they were fully booked, we wouldn’t be able to order food, and if we did, we’d have to sit at the bar. That didn’t seem to reflect reality. Around half of the pub was empty, and after checking, none of the tables were marked as reserved. We ended up seating ourselves and ordering anyway, and interestingly, most of those empty tables remained unused for the duration of our visit. It just didn’t add up and gave the impression that the staff simply didn’t want to deal with additional customers. When the food arrived, it was average at best. The portion of chips was particularly poor for the price, and overall it felt like very standard pub food that didn’t quite justify what was being charged. The atmosphere was another major downside. Being so close to Paultons Park (home of Peppa Pig World), the pub felt more like an overflow area for the theme park than a place to relax. It was extremely loud, with lots of children running around and shouting—more like eating in the middle of a soft play centre than a pub. Combined with disengaged staff, it made for a pretty unpleasant experience. Overall, a very underwhelming visit. Poor service, average food, and a chaotic atmosphere mean I won’t be returning. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re happy with a noisy environment, slow or reluctant service, and fairly basic food.”
