Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the clearest draw, with reviewers praising the traditional English breakfast and describing return visits at weekends and several mornings during a stay in Slough, served quickly by friendly, polite staff. Dinner earns a mixed response. One diner found the food tasty while watching football, another called the onion rings tasty and the burger hot but swamped in melted cheese, and a third found the crispy wings' batter and the peri peri rice very bland. Service divides the reviews. Some describe staff who managed a busy bar well and cleared tables regularly, while a long-time regular says recent interactions have felt dismissive and rude, and that food quality and value have slipped. Another reviewer says a drink listed as included with a meal was never brought because it was not on the receipt. A few mention how crowded it gets, though one found a table straight away on a Saturday. In one case, a plate that arrived with two sausages instead of three was corrected quickly once pointed out.

“While we were staying in Slough, we had breakfast here several times. The traditional English breakfast is unbeatable! The staff were friendly, the service was great, and everything was perfect. Highly recommended if you're looking for a proper English breakfast.”

“I have been visiting The Moon and Spoon in Slough with friends for more than ten years, and for a long time it was a place we genuinely enjoyed. Unfortunately, our experience has declined noticeably in recent years following changes in staff. Although this does not apply to every staff, some recent interactions have felt dismissive, unfriendly and unnecessarily rude. At times, the manner in which we were spoken to made us feel as though we had done something wrong, despite simply being regular paying customers. The level of service also seems inconsistent, and we no longer feel as welcome as we once did. The food used to be one of the main reasons we returned, but the quality has also declined and, in my opinion, no longer represents good value for the prices charged. It is disappointing to leave this review after being a frequent customer for more than a decade. I hope management takes recent customer feedback seriously and focuses on improving staff attitude, customer service, food quality and overall value. I would be happy to reconsider my rating if the experience improves.”

“Surprisingly good. We visited for dinner while watching football on the pub's TV) Food tasty (my friend was served 2 sausages rather than three but this was quickly corrected once it was pointed out). The normal range of beers with rotating guest drinks. Clientele mixed but all friendly.”

“I was surprised by how nice it was here. Considering I visited on a Saturday, it was quite busy but found a table straight away. The noise level was acceptable and I felt able to relax. The food was well cooked with decent portion sizes (something you can't say about every ' spoons ) the wait for food and drinks was acceptable given how busy they were, and was served with a smile. A very good pub.”
