Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, with the duo roast and the gammon and chips singled out as hot, tasty and well cooked, and one reviewer noting the gammon was not at all dry. Friendly staff come close behind. Several also mention a nice beer garden, a choice of cask and keg beers, and a kids menu that a weekly regular says their son likes. Good value comes up more than once. The recurring complaint is the kitchen. Two reviewers describe long waits for mains, one for a table of seven where some plates had clearly been sitting on the hot plate, the other where the children's order was slow and the server had to be prompted to chase it. One visitor found the roast had run out and only pineapple juice was on offer, and said the burger didn't taste as nice as expected, with the cod placed on the chips and bread on top of the cod. Another questioned the cost of half a glass of lemonade. Still, one diner recalls being asked several times whether they needed refills.

“Ordered food for 7, took 75 minutes for food to come out. When it did some had obviously been sitting on the hot plate for ages. Wasn't a very busy day food wise. Staff are friendly and garden is nice in the sunshine.”

“Ordered our food at 12:00 as soon as the kitchen opened, waited almost an hour for our mains to arrived. Prompted the server to chase up on our order, especially the kid's order which normally comes out pretty quickly when ordered at a restaurant. Upon reading the other reviews, its obvious that the kitchen needs speeding up!”

“We went there yesterday. Food was good value for money. Just unable to understand how Half a glass of lemonade from a tap can cost over £4!? I was told it had special ingredients. Would have rated everything higher but the Price of Lemonade confused me.”
