  “came here for a family members birthday. food was lovely and the service was amazing. Tom was lovely and George and Lycan made sure we were properly taken care of and were both very attentive. the burgers here are very good and high quality. i would most definitely come here again just purely for the level of service received. i recommend this pub/restaurant. 5/5 will be coming again.”

  “Had an AMAZING time!!!!! We are visiting family in the UK while visiting from the USA and wanted to go to an authentic British pub and we had great food, especially the sticky toffee pudding which was enjoyed by all on the table. The service was outstanding, our server Poppy was on top of everything and made the experience really special. We would absolutely recommend meeting up for a lunch here as food and drink are brilliant and service is great!! Will be returning here when we are back visiting again!”

  “Great time tonight! We were a large a loud group celebrating a special birthday. Jess and the team were amazingly patient, fun and welcoming. The food was tasty and fresh with great flavours and all orders were brought out timely even with the multiple orders. Jess in particular was so nice - attentive with a great aura and sense of humour. It’s been a while since I’ve been here and did not regret coming back.”

Jess, who has served us on several occasions, is especially lovely and always so friendly and attentive. She really makes us feel welcome every time we visit.   “★★★★★ We had lunch at The Red Lion Pub today and came away genuinely impressed. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, making it the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely meal. We decided to share a selection of dishes, including the garlic pizzette, mac and cheese, halloumi fries, and the baked Camembert with fresh bread. Every dish was cooked beautifully and arrived hot, fresh, and full of flavour. The garlic pizzette had a wonderfully crisp base with plenty of garlic and cheese, making it incredibly moreish. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and indulgent with a delicious cheesy topping. The halloumi fries were perfectly crisp on the outside while staying soft and salty inside, paired with a sweet chilli dip that complemented them perfectly. The standout for us was the baked Camembert – beautifully gooey, rich, and ideal for dipping the fresh bread into. It was clear that care had gone into both the presentation and quality of every dish. What truly elevated our visit, however, was the exceptional service from our server, Poppy. She was absolutely fantastic from start to finish—friendly, attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. She struck the perfect balance of checking in regularly without ever being intrusive, making sure our drinks were topped up, that we had everything we needed, and that we were enjoying our food. Her warm personality and attentiveness made us feel genuinely valued as customers and added so much to the overall experience. It’s becoming increasingly rare to receive service as thoughtful and personable as Poppy’s, and she is a real credit to The Red Lion Pub. Combined with the delicious food and lovely atmosphere, this was an outstanding lunch experience. We’ll definitely be returning and would happily recommend The Red Lion to anyone looking for excellent food, a great setting, and first-class customer service. Thank you, Poppy, for making our visit such an enjoyable one!”

  “We are Australians 🇦🇺 and we were very fortunate to have two wonderful experiences at The Red Lion with our fabulous friends, during our 7 week stay. One of the occasions was Father’s Day, where a terrific set menu was also offered. The food was exceptional and the staff were attentive and delightful. The atmosphere was fantastic and we had a truly memorable time. We really wish we could visit again soon! Thanks team 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Merren and Malcolm 🍾🥂”

  “The Red Lion is a pleasant pub with food that is quite good, though not outstanding. It is not the worst place, but it is certainly not bad either. The service from the staff could be improved, and the food could be even better. Still, it is definitely worth a visit.”

  “Busy pub offering both indoor and outdoor seating. I ate in the pub itself, but noted there was a restaurant area. Menu not massive, but offered something for everyone I'd say. Decided against fish and chips and went with the pork and prosciutto with scallops (scallops are an optional extra with this dish). Well presented plate and very tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed it.”

  “Visited for a Sunday roast and the roast was quite disappointing. The meat was cooked well but the carrots, parsnips and yorkshire pudding lacked any sort of flavour. The gravy was okay but again, lacking good flavour. The food was also very pricey considering the average quality. Staff were friendly though and there's a good amount of available parking.”

  “We haven't been here for 20 years but we were visiting a family member. It's changed a lot and very cosy decor. Looked so pretty outside very Christmassy. Food was really nice and the girl who served us was very lovely. Cocktails were great. We had a nice time and would definitely revisit if we are in the area”
