About The Crown Rivers
The Crown Rivers is a Wetherspoon pub in Heathrow Terminal 5 in Hounslow, found to the left after security, then downstairs and left, near Boots. Tea and Lavazza coffee come with free refills all day, and self-service coffee machines sit alongside the bar. The breakfast menu includes a full English, and the rest of the food menu runs to fish and chips and a maple bacon burger. The drinks list covers real ales, craft beers, gins and soft drinks. The pub takes no reservations and assigns no seats, so guests pick any table. Orders go in at the bar with a table number, or through the Wetherspoon app by scanning the QR code, with food brought to the table. Seating flows out into the airport itself.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for ordering by app or QR code from any free table, with food arriving quickly, and the fish and chips draw the warmest praise, called delicious by several. Burgers come close behind, one with maple bacon and onion rings, another a cheese and bacon burger with thick, crispy chips. A club sandwich, chicken tenders with chipotle mayo, a salad and breakfast items also get mentions, and the self-service coffee is called pretty good. Many describe the food as standard but consistent and filling, and the staff as friendly and courteous. Prices are called reasonable for an airport and cheaper than other options. The main complaint is the pepperoni pizza, described as soggy and sloppy with a sad sag when lifted. A few also note the pub gets busy and noisy as seating spills into the terminal, though others found a table easily and a calm spot. One reviewer was served in about ten minutes, and another settled in with a burger and the plentiful TVs while waiting for a flight.

“Relatively calm space in LHR airport. Kind staff. Fish and chips were delicious.”

“The Crown Rivers is one of the only pubs in Heathrow Terminal 5. It's a Wetherspoon pub, so you can expect the usual kind of food and drinks, decor, and atmosphere. I stopped by for a half-pint before my flight. There's no reservations or assigned seating, so just choose a table. You can then either order at the bar (which you'll need to give them your table number), or you can scan the QR code and have food and drinks delivered to your table. I opted for the QR code, as I was on my own. There were a lot of different lagers and ale both international and domestic on offer. So I had an IPA called Angry Bird. My half-pint cost me £2.58, which for an airport pub is pretty good. The pub itself was quite clean. It can get quite noisy and busy, especially as the seating flows out into the airport itself. Overall, quite a cheap and convenient pub.”

“There is no greater British travel tradition than the pre-flight pint, and Wetherspoon at Heathrow remains the ultimate launchpad before takeoff. Whether you’re grabbing a table at The Crown Rivers in Terminal 5 or heading to Terminal 2’s new Sir Frank Whittle, this spot serves pure pre-holiday optimism. While the surrounding airport terminals hum with frantic energy and high-end duty-free stress, Spoons offers a comforting sanctuary of cool efficiency. The app ordering is a lifesaver—a few taps on your phone and a crisp draft beer or a hot flat white arrives directly at your table in minutes, letting you completely sidestep the terminal mayhem. Sure, airport pricing means it costs a quid or two more than your neighborhood local, but compared to pound 40+ lounge entry fees, it is an unbeatable bargain. The fry-ups are surprisingly solid, the coffee refills keep you alive after a 4:00 AM alarm, and the people-watching is world-class. It’s unpretentious, dependable, and chaotic in the best way possible. The Verdict: Skip the lackluster lounges. Order a full English, scan the departure board, and start your trip properly. 4/5 stars.”

“The Pepperoni Pizza was really soggy and sloppy. When you lifted it up to your mouth it had a sad sag. It tasted like a Billy's Pan Pizza from Sweden. The chicken tenders were really good. So crispy and juicy and the chipotle mayo was a good compliment. Although quite spicy. Overall I think it's decent airport food.”

“Very busy restaurant at LHR, but highly efficient! Once you find a table, you can just scan the menu and order on your phone. The food came out rather quickly, was delicious, and the portions were decent. It's airport pricing, but more reasonable and better quality than airport food in the US.”

“The pub is open for breakfast until 12 noon and offers free refills (all day every day) on tea and Lavazza coffee. For lunch and dinner, there are lighter bites, with deli deal options and vegetarian choices, gourmet burgers and freshly made pizzas. Wetherspoon has championed a wide range of drinks, including real ales, craft beers, gins and soft drinks. Table service is available via the Wetherspoon app, using our unlimited free Wi-Fi. This pub has step-free access.”
