About The Bull Inn Limpsfield
The Bull Inn Limpsfield is a community-owned gastropub on High St in Oxted. Locals formed the company Enterprising Limpsfield in 2017 when the historic pub went up for sale. Because the pub is independent, the team can draw on the wider community's tastes and back locally owned small businesses. Sunday roast is a recurring dish, with roast beef, gammon and roast chicken among the choices. The bar pours Hawkstone, Harveys and Larkins Traditional on draught, alongside Peroni, Neck Oil, Madri and Guinness. A newer menu adds small plates.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers come for the Sunday roast, with beef, gammon, pork and roast chicken all praised for generous portions, rich gravy and trimmings. Close behind are the sea bass with a flavourful butter sauce, the pork and black pudding Scotch egg, a double smashed-patty bacon burger with coleslaw, and small plates that one reviewer found reasonably priced. Diners describe the staff as welcoming, attentive and professional, and the village setting as lovely and full of character. Drinkers single out well-kept pints, including Hawkstone on draught, though one finds the alcohol expensive and wishes for more independent brewers beyond the mainstream lagers. The main criticism comes from a former regular who found a recent Sunday roast grey throughout instead of the medium-rare ordered, with fatty meat, gravy that tasted like powder and plain peas in place of seasonal vegetables, while praising the manager and server. Another reports several earlier disappointing meals, and notes little room inside for a pram. One happy diner mentions a summer party with a DJ and barbecue in the garden.

“What a fabulous pub! The beautiful village location is just perfect. Plenty of parking on the quiet street. Delicious food, welcoming staff and a great selection of drinks. You also get a sense they care for the local residents. We visited the day of their summer party with a DJ playing Ibiza-like tunes in the garden, alongside the bbq. It was amazing!”

“I really like this pub in the sense I love coming here, the alcohol is always top tier and the pints and taps seem well maintained. Hawkstone draft to name. The food has been bad the previous visits, but today was okay. Shared a lunch meal for £10. Not sure I would go there for a steak/expensive meal though due to multiple bad food experiences. I will always come back due to positive quality of alcohol (though expensive) not much space inside for a buggy/pram but there is something about this pub”

“Just visited the bull to try their new menu and the small plates were just fabulous , perfect for us getting off the train and fancying a glass of wine and a bite to eat. “Lovely community owned pub with delicious Sunday roast (gammon). Personally I love to see independent pubs leaning into independent brewers (besides your mass-produced Peroni, Neck Oil, Madri, Guiness there was only a Harveys and a 'Larkins Traditional' which to be fair I hadn't tried before) but it was nonetheless a 5* visit.”

“What an amazing village gem! Lovely, cosy and friendly pub. Eaten and drank here over the last couple of days and it’s been amazing. All the staff are professional and attentive. The food is exceptional, I’ve had a Sunday roast dinner today and it was the roast of all roasts. Super well done to the chef and his team. The prices are decent for the quality you get and potion sizes are generous. Lovely local, lots of character and charm. I will be back again in summer. Thank you to all the team at the Bull. 😊”

“Welcome to The Bull Inn. We are a community driven, village pub-hub in the heart of Limpsfield, Surrey, serving top quality food and drink in a unique and friendly environment. When our historic pub went up for sale in 2017, a group of locals formed a community company, Enterprising Limpsfield with the aim of creating more than a pub - a 'pub-hub’ - at the heart of local life. By being completely independent, we can draw on the tastes and preferences of the wider community to promote local food, drink, innovation and to support other locally-owned small businesses and individuals. We look forward to welcoming you very soon.”
