About The Kings Head Bessels Green
The Kings Head Bessels Green is a pub in Sevenoaks, at 2 Westerham Rd, serving Sunday roast in a historic building or out in its garden. The roast comes with beef, chicken or pork, and the plates include roast potatoes and vegetables on the side. A vegetarian Sunday roast is on the menu, and several vegan options give guests who avoid meat a place at the same table. The kitchen also cooks British dishes with a modern approach. The bar pours wines, beers and soft drinks to go with a meal or to enjoy on their own. The pub opens daily.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast draws the most mentions, with praise for the roast chicken and roast pork, good portions, crispy and fluffy potatoes and moist meat, though one diner wanted a little more gravy. Close behind is the staff, called friendly, smiley and attentive even when a World Cup crowd packed the pub. The sea bass and the burger are singled out, and a vegan party found several options. Complaints gather around the roast and the kitchen. One diner's sirloin arrived grey, was sent back, and the replacement was still grey at the edges and cut wafer thin. Another found dry halved potatoes, got no gravy until asking, and was charged for a second cauliflower cheese despite the roast being advertised as including it. A booking confirmed by email was missing from the system, and tables are described as too close in places. One group celebrated a birthday in a hired hut, and another family got a traditional meat pie, not on the menu, after their waiter arranged it.

“I took my American Relatives to the KA for a last minute meal on Bank Holiday Monday 31/8/26 ( they wanted to eat a traditional meat pie lunch ) it wasn’t on the menu BUT our waiter Grieg made it happen against all the odds. I don’t know how he did it but he certainly went over and beyond good customer service. All our table would like to send thanks to him for making my relatives experience so exceptional.”

“Lovely pub with a young, enthusiastic team. We visited recently for dinner, it was hot, the garden was super-busy. Staff were smiley and attentive, food was good, particularly the burger! Will definitely return”

“I went to The Kings Head to watch England’s first World Cup game and, as expected, the pub was extremely busy with a great atmosphere. Despite how packed it was, both Becca and Steph were incredibly welcoming and kept everything running smoothly. They made a real effort to check in on people and ensure everyone was enjoying the evening, which didn’t go unnoticed. It made the whole experience even better.”

“Had a lovely meal at the Kings Head last night. Food was very tasty & there were several options for the vegans in our party. The team were very friendly too & the pub is a nice setting & deceptively spacious. One star deducted due to an issue with our table booking - I booked online, with confirmation email received, but we weren’t on the system. No problem as it was a Tuesday evening so not mega busy, but it absolutely could have been on a Friday/Saturday with a party of 6.”

“Delicious, would certainly visit again. We had roast chicken and roast pork, good portions and a good mix of sides. Crispy and fluffy potatoes, meat was moist and vegetables were well seasoned - perhaps a little more gravy if I was nitpicking. Parking can be a little tricky. Service great, warm & friendly. A wonderful atmosphere.Visit for the memorabilia!”
