About Talardy Hotel
Talardy Hotel is a pub on The Roe in Saint Asaph with 11 en-suite rooms, so the pub, the restaurant and the bedrooms share one building. The menu lists 53 dishes, running from Crispy Whitebait to a Hawkstone steak pie served with veg and mash. The Craft Platter lets diners build their own starter selection instead of choosing a single plate. Kebabs are made in the kitchen, Sunday roasts are on offer, and puddings close out the menu. Guests who stay overnight are served breakfast the next morning. Dogs can sit in a hard-floored part of the dining area.

Customer Review Summary
Most guests who stay describe the rooms as clean and comfortable, and one praises the cold, air-conditioned room after a heatwave. Breakfast is singled out as freshly prepared and filling. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and polite, including a manager at check-in and a barman with a warm welcome. In the pub, diners liked a burger and the vegetables and mash, but the Hawkstone steak pie let one table down, with hard, chewy, leathery pastry around a good filling. Service is the main complaint. One birthday party waited a long time for drinks and food, learned only after ordering that some dishes were unavailable, and skipped dessert for fear of the wait. Another reviewer says a table booked a week ahead for a group with dogs was given to walk-ins, and the manager responded dismissively. A third found only one teabag for two guests and a half-painted wall. Still, a family of eleven after a funeral was seated on the day without fuss.

“We spotted this lovely hotel while passing through on our way to our next destination and decided to stop for a stay. The manager who welcomed us at check-in was very kind, polite, and helpful, offering excellent advice. The staff were friendly, and we enjoyed a good dinner in the beautifully decorated restaurant. Our room was nice, with a comfortable bed. We’re glad we stopped here. P.S.There was plenty of parking, which was very convenient.”

“Can't comment on the rooms as didn't stay. However popped in for food as a change from the sea breeze in rhyl and so glad we did. The first time trying here and will definitely be back. Nice big spacious place. Quite old and quirky but adds to its charm. Staff lovely and friendly service fast and food really good. All in all a good first visit and will be back. Also great outdoor space in the summer”

“I had a fantastic first time visit at the Talardy Hotel! Service was fantastic in the pub and the food was perfect. I also stayed in the hotel and the room was lovely and clean. The air conditioning was much appreciated and ensured I had a great night sleep. All refreshed I headed to breakfast the next morning which was cooked to perfection. All in all it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend for a bite to eat or a place to stay!”
