Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the Sunday lunch, with one praising its gravy, brought out again instantly when more was requested, while another calls the lamb slices wafer thin and the cheesecake tiny. Close behind are the cozy rooms with roaring fires and the friendly, welcoming staff. Other dishes named include a chicken supreme with mustard sauce and bacon, a cheeseburger, and pie and chips. Diners also mention real ales, an extensive whisky list, tap wine from France, a beer garden and a dog friendly welcome. Value is the recurring complaint. Two reviewers found portions small for the price, one describing a salmon dish with only a scattering of vegetables in the miso broth, another calling the roast potatoes overcooked and dry. One says a previous meal was refunded after a complaint. Service draws praise even from critical reviewers, though one notes a wrong bottle of wine and missing cutlery at a Sunday table.

“The staff were lovely and a decent drink, the food for the price being totally honest wasn’t great, roast potatoes tasted overcooked and dry only softened by the gravy. Portions not very big neither. Staff superb regards food wouldn’t rush back at the price”

“My family love it here and the food was great we all had the pie chips and some veg and the place is dog friendly too which is amazing when you need to have a family meal all together and good to see a place that does real ale 🍺”

“Very enjoyable.meal at the Druid. Chicken Supreme was, well, supreme, delicious mustard sauce with bacon. Other half had a cheeseburger - very good patty, plenty of cheese, good salad trimmings. Desserts, drinks, everything under £35 per head. Helpful, attentive server, never too much in your face. Will definitely be returning, not least (sometime when I'm not driving) to start working my way through the extensive whisky list!”

“Had an amazing meal a very different but an amazing menu. You can still get some pub favourites but also some unusual dishes too not what you would usually find in a typical pub for grub. Would totally recommend a visit if you haven't already. We'll definitely be back the beer garden is a very pleasant surprise for an evening al fresco dining.”
  • Kate Cox
“Charming pub with great ales, beer and their own tap wine imported from France. The food is fantastic and Ray and his team are very welcoming. They do regular organised pub walks around the beautiful countryside and have walking trails to follow and finish with great food.”
