About Sun Verge

Sun Verge is a seafront pub and carvery on E Parade in Rhyl. The carvery is served from a counter, and the rest of the menu is ordered from the table. Dogs get a menu of their own, with water, treats and blankets, and they sit in a dog-friendly area of the restaurant, while the carvery area is kept separate from where they are seated. Families have an indoor play area and an outdoor play area for children, so the young ones have somewhere to go during a meal. Tables can be booked online, and a text message confirms the booking.

Customer Review Summary

Friendly staff and hearty food run through the reviews, but the dog-friendly welcome is what diners describe most vividly, with a dog menu, water, treats and blankets on offer. Meals are called tasty, hot and generous, and the steak, pie and chicken tikka masala are named as cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Reviewers call the prices reasonable and the atmosphere relaxed, and they mention outside seating with sea views and an outdoor play area that kept children happy. Service is described as friendly and welcoming, and food often arrives quickly. The complaints are specific. One carvery visitor faced a long wait at the counter, with floor staff having to help top up the food because the carvery server worked slowly. Another diner, whose wife is allergic to dog hairs, wanted dogs better signed and ended up seated in the carvery area. One table was a little sticky. One family treated their spaniel to a steak and a puppuccino.

“Visited this evening for the first time with my husband, 4 of our children and our 13 year old springer spaniel. Food was delicious and service was great. Restaurant was clean and staff friendly and welcoming. I love that the restaurant is pet friendly and has blankets, treats and water on offer for guests pets. I also love how they have a dog menu too, we treated our pooch to a steak and a puppuccino. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, desserts and drinks and our youngest 2 children loved playing on the outdoor play area too. Would highly recommend and our family will definitely be revisiting again soon and we've already recommended to our family and friends”

“We ordered drinks, mains and desserts and ordered food for our dog and it was all amazing value. Very pet friendly, with dog menus, water, treats and blankets. Food was amazing, and service was incredible, the staff were very friendly. There were 7 of us including our dog, and we didn't have to wait long at all, with a play area outside. Absolutely no complaints, would 100% recommend and will definitely be coming back.”

“Met up with friends from down south who were staying locally for a few days. Location is excellent with outside seating with sea views. It's literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. The ambience of the restaurant is nice and relaxed. The staff were very friendly and happy to help. The food is reasonably priced and tasty so no complaints there. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely go there again.”

“Food was fine. Only issues for us was they allow dogs which really should be better signed as my wife is illergic to dog hairs and we had to sit in the carvery area. Dogs seem to have more rights than humans these days. A shame as there was plenty of outside spaces for animals.”
