Quick info
About The Taphouse
The Taphouse is an island-style restaurant and bar in Saint Agnes, at 3 Peterville, set in a tropical, plant-filled room. The kitchen serves fresh-caught whole lobster, poke bowls and surf n' turf, so seafood leads the menu. A cocktail list and a selection of world beers run alongside the food, which makes the bar as much a part of the visit as the dining. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring a pet along.

Customer Review Summary
Lobster is the draw reviewers raise most, served whole and described as very tasty, in a poke bowl, and alongside scallops that one diner calls a highlight of seafood said to be caught that morning. Close behind are the dressed crab with fresh bread, crispy squid that was actually crispy in a big portion, and a nicoise mackerel salad. Others praise the beef curry and fish curry, tacos, surf n turf, and desserts such as a citrus tart and apple gyoza with clotted cream, plus cocktails including a lemon sherbet one and local beers on tap. Reviewers describe a laid back, cozy island vibe with plants everywhere, and staff who are lovely and helpful, with one party greeted warmly despite arriving very late and another served drinks and food quickly. The only complaint is that parking nearby proved tricky. One diner suggests booking well in advance, while another lunch party was shown straight to a table without a booking.

“Popped in for lunch, they were able to accommodate us (and dog). Decor is lovely and place has a laid back vibe. Food is great and unusual compared to the norm. I had the poke bowl with lobster and the wife had the nicosoise mackerel salad. Both excellent! Nice array of drinks available too! 100% recommend!”

“Stopped here for lunch after seeing it a lot on social media. Was not disappointed. Fantastic food in an amazing setting. Didn’t need to book. Was shown straight to our table. Would highly recommend. Only down side was trying to find somewhere nearby to park proved a little tricky.”
