  “My son and his wife held their wedding ceremony in the field. It was a beautiful location and the staff really made an extra special effort to make it special for them at very short notice. The food for the afternoon reception was delicious and there was plenty of it. All the staff were were really attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. We would highly recommend The Shaft for any occasion 😊”

  “Amazing!! We approached Jess the manager, to hold a celebrant wedding at 5 weeks notice, then reduced to 1 week due to my father’s health condition. We wanted him to be there to share our beautiful day with him. And nothing was an issue! Anything we asked for Jess and her staff done everything in their power to pull off what we wanted. And for not a lot of money either! We had an amazing wedding, food, party and stay here! Jess and her team smashed it out the park. The buffet was amazing, everyone loved the food! The staff was so helpful, respectful and nothing was an issue! The views are spectacular! I do not have one bad word and neither did our wedding guests. We all agreed this place is a hidden gem within our beautiful county. We also stayed the night and had Sunday lunch and for £18 for local y produced food, I was amazed by it! I think it was great value for money and was delicious! We are forever in debt to Jess and all the staff at the shaft inn and the holiday park for accommodating us. This place will forever be special for us and we will be coming back here for more of their food and hopefully a lovely weekend in their spa lodge”

  “⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely fantastic Sunday roast at our favorite hidden Cornish jem. From the moment you walk in the staff were are warm, friendly, and welcoming. The place is spotless, well presented, and has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. As always the food was amazing and you can really tell it's all homemade, with generous portions and great quality. The Yorkshire puddings were proper homemade ones, light, fluffy, and full of flavour. The gravy was rich and absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly, and it was excellent value for money. The homemade desserts are an absolute must! The deconstructed cheesecake was beyond good—honestly one of the best desserts I've ever had. If you're looking for a proper homemade Sunday roast with fantastic service, great value with a great selection of drinks then give it a try.”

  “We had our wedding here on the 25th of April this year. The staff went above and beyond - from initial conversations with Jess right through to the day planning with Emma. The buffet we had was amazing and we had so many comments from guests saying how lovely it was. We also stayed in the spa lodge which was immaculate. We cannot thank The Shaft Inn enough and would recommend to anyone whether that be for a wedding, food or accommodation. Thank you again.”

  “Had the Roast this Sunday and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was so tasty, the potatoes light and fluffy in the middle and crispy on the outside. Vegetables were cooked to perfection. Overall a very good roast 😋😋”

  “Popped in to The Shaft Inn for the first time for lunch with a friend today, and what a lovely experience it was! The service staff were really welcoming, polite and friendly. The inn itself was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a coronation chicken baguette and a BLT baguette, both served with a side salad and crisps, with a latte and cappuccino. Everything was well presented and tasted delicious. A little hidden gem of a place for lunch with amazing views across the valley. All in all, a great experience and we'll definitely be back!”

  “Had an awesome roast lunch & hubby enjoyed a wonderfully delicious pollock & chips. Highly recommend a visit. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. It was so scrumptious that we’re delighted to be returning for our evening meal.”

  “I had the steak, mushroom, onion & Aioli baguette on the lunch menu. It was absolutely delicious, the steak was tender and the flavours from the mushroom, aioli and onion were amazing. It was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. My partner had the bbq chicken pizza, he absolutely loved it and will definitely be back for more. We eat here regularly and he also highly recommends the build your own burger on the evening menu. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, everywhere was tidy and clean and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food or drinks. Highly recommend!”

  “Disappointed. I came here with my family on the anniversary of my stepdads death hoping for a quiet tasty respectful meal. We were instead greeted with an extremely loud quiz, even louder tables of guests and sub standard food. Not one person on our table managed to finish our meal which at these prices is highly disappointing. The cheese tasted and smelled bad, the chicken was overcooked and dry and the soup was like mushed up baby food. If you’re after a raucous pub night then it’s fine but it’s certainly not a restaurant in any way shape or form. Their website needs altering as it’s very deceptive.”
