About The Phoenix Bar and Eatery
On The Hundred in Romsey, The Phoenix Bar and Eatery runs as a pub and a restaurant at number 30-32. The name pairs a bar with an eatery, and the business sits under both the pub and restaurant categories. Dogs are welcome, so people out with a pet can bring it along instead of leaving it at home. That makes it a workable stop for a drink or a meal when a dog is part of the outing. The combined bar and eatery format gives visitors a choice between the two at a single address.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly staff, with a few also praising tasty, reasonably priced food and a dog-friendly welcome. The main complaint is a slow visit, where the fish and chips and lasagne were just ok and the pie arrived on mash in a sea of peas and gravy. One adds that the bar is cramped with live music on.

“As a place its alright the bar is cramped its very small especially with live music on, the outside is nice and big which I can imagine is amazing in the summer but for my experience it was just a bar still had a great time atmosphere was okay but some weird people did occur when I was there.”

“We had eaten here before at lunchtime and quite enjoyed it. This time was not quite the same. Waited ages in our food. The fish and chips was ok, lasagne ok but the pie with mash and seasonal veg...well...not sure when peas become a seasonal veg. Served with the pie on top of the potato in a sea of peas and gravy. Not good at all.”
