About The Exchange
The Exchange is a bar in Romsey, at 14 Market Pl, that serves breakfast and lunch as well as drinks. The breakfast menu includes a breakfast bap, a bagel stack and a veggie breakfast, so the bar works as a daytime stop for a meal and not only for a drink. Lunch follows the breakfast food. On the non-alcoholic side, the bar pours hot drinks and milkshakes, and it stocks sparkling and still soft drinks.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast draws the most praise, with reviewers singling out the Bagel Stack, tasty sausages, perfectly cooked eggs and a veggie breakfast. Close behind are the bacon, brie and cranberry ciabatta, mushrooms on sourdough, and a tapas selection of bruschetta, lemon and herb chicken wings and tempura prawns, described as piping hot. Staff are often called friendly and attentive. The complaints are specific. One lunch party got gammon cut in half with cold, tasteless chips, waited a long time and were forgotten, and thought the drinks expensive. Another reviewer called staff rude and said a simple brunch order was made wrong, and a third was told the kitchen was closed at 2:40 despite food being advertised until 3pm. Still, one returning reviewer who once found staff rude came back to find the kitchen making an exception to serve tapas earlier than usual.

“Visited The Exchange on Friday 16th October for mid-morning breakfast. Food, as ever, was divine! I had the Bagel Stack which is probably my favourite and it never disappoints. We were served by Amy, and I'd just like to give a special mention about her because she is just so lovely and attentive, and treats you as if you were an old friend. I watched her interact with all of the other customers and she is amazing. She is an absolute asset to your business. We'll be back soon, I'm sure!”

“Go Thursday eve but réservé table before, you'll get 50% discount on most things including drinks!”

“Rude staff. Can't even correctly make a simple brunch order. Avoid and enjoy the many ( far better) eateries in the area.”

“Went in for food at 2:40. Said it was serving food until 3pm. Told kitchen was closed. False advertising.”

“Four of us had lunch on Wednesday. Two of the party had lasagna which was okay, more tinned tomatoes than meat, but tasted okay. Another had a burger which was fine, I regrettably chose the gammon chips and two eggs. The cheap oven or fried chips were awful, absolutely no taste and cold. When you order gammon you don’t expect to be given a small piece that has been clearly cut in half. The eggs were good. Two had coffee, and both stated that they could hardly taste the coffee. It is also strange for a cafe not to do puddings. On top of that the service was inadequate considering that they weren’t busy (I wonder why) we had to wait quite a time for our meals, then we were forgotten, and had to ask for service. The drinks were expensive considering they are not pint regulated classes. In all very very disappointing. Half a small piece of gammon and cheap chips was a joke for the price.”
